My name is Dimitrios and I'm a Licensed, Qualified Tour Guide, who's been involved in Tourism since 2013. I was born and raised in Meteora-Kalambaka, where my family has lived continuously since the 18th century. I'm a passionate scholar and lover of history and art, plus a deep connoisseur of Meteora. I love to share my knowledge of Greek culture and introduce visitors to my homeland, discussing our geological phenomenon as well as the construction and art of our monasteries. I organize special historical, religious, cultural and hiking guided tours for small or large groups in these monasteries, offering special routes dedicated to introducing monastic life, the frescoes and architecture of the 14th -16th centuries in order to present the history, religion and traditions of Greece to visitors. I graduated from the National Tourist Guides College in Thessaloniki (two & a half years of professional formation with course subjects: history, art history and archaeology). In addition, I studied for another two & a half years at the college of Religious Tourism & Pilgrimage Tours, devoting myself to go more in depth in the religious art of the Middle Ages. From 1993, I started studying Byzantine painting and I maintain a traditional icon painting and restoration workshop in Meteora. Therefore, I have been passionately involved in the study of medieval art. Tours can also be tailored considering a variety of factors. From group size (I offer from private tours to school groups) to age (whether it be for high school students, college students, elderly people, etc. ) and interests (to focus more on the historical, archaeological, or else). All my tours can be customized according to your requests. Embrace the beauty of Meteora discovering the culture of the monastic life and the medieval period with me as your guide. You will partake in an experience that goes beyond the ordinary. Enjoy every aspect of your stay in Greece! Licensed and Qualified Tourist Guide Graduated from the National College of Tourist Guides in Thessaloniki, Greece. Graduated from College of Religious Tourism and Pilgrimage Tours Graduated from School of Fine Arts, specialized in Woodcarving Studies of medieval - byzantine painting Active icon painter and restorer of antique paintings I can not drive you in my car during the tour but I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Come on this tour accompanied by yours truly, a guide who specialized in the history & art of the middle ages. You'll witness the best viewpoints that showcase Meteora's majestic rock formations, marvelling at the towering cliffs that make this site truly extraordinary, while gaining insights into the historical & cultural significance of the magnificent monasteries perched atop these natural wonders. Also, prepare to be captivated by the hidden hermit caves of Badovas, a testament to the solitude & devotion of the past. I'll lead you to discover the mysticism of the monastic life & help you understand the meaning of their byzantine paintings & medieval art. During this 4 hour long private tour, you'll have the chance to see all six active monasteries in this area, delving into their spiritual and cultural significance. We'll actually carry out a guided visit inside of 2 monasteries, where I'll regale you with fascinating tales & insider knowledge about them. I can customize the tour to your requests.

Each monastery has a different closing day during the week and a different closing time as well, the latest being at 17:30). ·Afterwards, we'll see the hermit caves of Badovas. ·At the end of the tour we will drive back to your accommodation. I'll come to pick you up in a Private Citroen Space Tourer or a Mercedes Benz Sprinter of 8 pax capacity with a driver, right at the arranged meeting point. If you have your own car with you, I'd be happy to join you in your vehicle for a different price that of course doesn't require transportation fees, so in this case simply send me a message for a customized tour.
