Hi, my name is Costas, welcome to Thessaly! I was born and raised in Trikala, a picturesque small town of Thessaly, 20 km from Meteora. Trikala is also the place in which Asclepius the God of Medicine was born. Since I moved to Athens to study History and Archaeology, the feeling of nostalgia became gradually more intense. Working at the University of Athens and teaching Greek language, culture, and history to foreign people, immigrants, and refugees helped me to understand more deeply what it means to be a Greek. This interaction and the fact that I like to observe people gave me the idea to become a licensed tour guide. My background in Middle Eastern Studies and Balkan Studies, especially lessons in anthropology helped me to adjust my narrative depending on the cultural background of the visitors. Recently I returned to my home town Trikala because I missed living in a more peaceful way close to nature. Beyond Meteora, there are many undiscovered, intriguing, and worthy-to-visit places with breathtaking views of natural landscapes. Trikala is a paradise for foodies, for the region is well known to Greeks for its dairy products, pies and meat delicacies. It is also a place of unique natural beauty surrounded by mountains with natural lakes, rivers, waterfalls and gorges calling you to “conquer.” When you should pay a visit to Meteora and the broader region. Although Meteora is a holy place it becomes a living hell during July and August due to the high temperatures.I advice you to choose Spring, Autumn and Winter to visit the place when mother nature is at its best. I love farming, making and consuming pies, and rebetiko music. Whether you want to organize a visit to a farm, winery or a local dairy products factory or taste some local delicacies in a hidden inn up to the mountains after a horse riding activity , I am the person you are looking for! It will be my honor to accompany you, show you around one of the most beautiful places of Greece and help you to create unforgettable memories. - Licensed Tourist Guide - Bachelor's Degree in History, University of Athens - Master's Degree in Turkish, Arabian, and Persian languages and cultures, University of Leiden, The Netherlands - Bachelor's Degree in Balkan Slavic and Oriental languages and cultures, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki. - Numerous seminars on Organic Agriculture by the Ministry of Agriculture. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Imagine walking the path leading to the caves where the first monks who resided Meteora chose to stay. The silence is interrupted only by the birds singing their songs and the steps of few pius people visiting the monk residing one of the caves in order to confess and get his blessings. The specific visit is not just a visit to a hidden gem, it's a moment to disconnect from the noise of everyday life. Then we will visit two monasteries. Depending on your stamina we may visit the less visited thus more "intriguing" monasteries where you may feel like you have stepped into another century. Of course there is always the solution of paying a visit to two among the most known and easy to access monasteries.
- Visit the caves of the hermits after walking 10 minutes from the main street. - Visit two monasteries. - Stops for photoshooting from spots with a breathtaking view.
