Individual, out of the box and radiating positive energy - that's how my tours are. Anja, born 1967, open water swimmer, salsa dancer and travel addict having traveled 70+ countries so far and thus knowing what a traveler needs. My passion is to turn cool facts into great stories. I am so happy that I can do this in both of my professions - being a city guide for Düsseldorf and a journalist specialized in economics. I highly value thorough education and delivering perfect service. As a journalist I have worked for the equivalent of Financial Times in Germany and can provide you with insights about German economy, politics and "Life, the Universe and Everything". - certified three star *** city guide - also working for the official tourist office in Düsseldorf - member of the German Professional Guide Association (BVGD) - certified Church Guide Please not: I am a guide for Dusseldorf only! I am not a driver guide. In Germany you need a taxi licence for this - otherwise guests are not insured. Therefor I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can recommend a limousine service (car and driver).

The former fishing village of Kaiserswerth—one of Düsseldorf’s northernmost districts—is much older than Düsseldorf itself. The ruins of the imperial palace (Kaiserpfalz) bear witness to more than a thousand years of history. You'll discover what the abduction of a king was all about, where traces of river‑towing can still be found, where Florence Nightingale got inspired for starting her nursing school, and who gave the Suitbertus Basilica its name.
We will meet at Klemensplatz. We will walk along Germanys smallest linden tree lined street (if you are okay with walking rough surfaces), find midieval fortifications and town gates, discover the imperial palace of Kaiser Frederik Barbarossa. We will visit Suitbertus cathedral - one of the oldest places of Christianity in the northern Rhine area. We will get a glimpse at the Rhine river and discover traces of former river-towing. Last but not least we will follow the footsteps of Florence Nightingale and where she got her inspiration for starting professional care and nursing schools.
