Individual, out of the box and radiating positive energy - that's how my tours are. Anja, born 1967, open water swimmer, salsa dancer and travel addict having traveled 70+ countries so far and thus knowing what a traveler needs. My passion is to turn cool facts into great stories. I am so happy that I can do this in both of my professions - being a city guide for Düsseldorf and a journalist specialized in economics. I highly value thorough education and delivering perfect service. As a journalist I have worked for the equivalent of Financial Times in Germany and can provide you with insights about German economy, politics and "Life, the Universe and Everything". - certified three star *** city guide - also working for the official tourist office in Düsseldorf - member of the German Professional Guide Association (BVGD) - certified Church Guide Please not: I am a guide for Dusseldorf only! I am not a driver guide. In Germany you need a taxi licence for this - otherwise guests are not insured. Therefor I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can recommend a limousine service (car and driver).

Let's walk the cobblestoned streets, taste some hot mulled wine or even a fire tounge punch together and stroll from one Christmas Market to the next one. There are seven markets spread over the city center: The Angel Market, the Stars Market, the Fairy Tales Market, Craftsmen Market and more. It is like immersing into the past - very romantic and lots of wonderful lights. If you are into it you can try ice skating because every year there is an ice skating rink being set up during Christmas Market weeks on Königsallee - our luxury shopping boulevard. The old town calls itself "The longest bar in the world" because of its vibrant night life with hundreds of pubs, bars, restaurants, breweries and discotheques in the old town. Our motto is "work hard, party hard" - one of the reasons that the consulting company Mercer ranked it in the Top-10 worldwide when it comes to quality of living. Düsseldorf is a fairly unknown jewel - let me help you to discover it!
My tours are customized, there is no standard because I want to match your interests. Are you into traditinal German wooden or glass Christmas decorations? I will show you the most typical stalls. Are you into seasonal food and drink? I will lead you to the best offers at the market. If you are cold - not so uncommon in winter time - I will take you to warm up in a traditional way . . . your choice whether it will be a hot drink outdoors or indoors. We will walk in the old town, cross over to Königsallee and end up at the Christmas market near the Kö-Bogen (whose architecht is the famous Daniel Libeskind). In case of really bad weather we might agree on changing the itinerary and have for example a coffee indoors.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
It is a walking only tour.
Burgplatz, Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, 40213, Germany
Airport: ,Cruise: ,ByGuide: We will individually agree on a meeting point, depending on how you arrive in the old town. The stairs at castle tower at Burgplatz are a good option. https://goo.gl/maps/mSN9uju9mTBiV1FAA
