Overview of your Dusseldorf tour
Düsseldorf is a still fairly unknown jewel ranking amongst the Top 10 cities worldwide when it comes to quality of living (according to Mercer). Everything is within walkable distance - I even got rid of my car. The old town is pretty small - about 5-6 football / socccer fields. Let's walk the cobblestoned streets, immerse into the past but not forgetting the present. On our way we will find historical buildings as well as living traditions, interesting art and statues and experience the influence of history in our nowadays life. Even though I am not a party animal (any longer) I love the vibrant atmosphere of the old town which calls itself "The longest bar in the world": Hundreds of pubs, bars, restaurants and discotheques. The craft beer movement never had a chance here as we live this conviction for several hundred years now. The proof are 5 microbreweries in the city center. Our motto has always been "work hard, party hard" - and it does not only happy at night. .
Your Dusseldorf tour itinerary
My tours are customized, there is no standard because I want to match your interests. "Must-sees in the Old Town": - Historical city hall and market square - The castle tower - Several churches (St. Lambert, St. Andrew, Neander) and of course the river Düssel which gave its name to the city. If you are interested in WW II we can include a visit to a historical air-raid shelter. In case of bad weather, we might have a coffee in the Café of the castle tower museum (extra entrance fee) with a beautiful view over the old town. - And last but not least we will stroll a bit on the most beautiful promenade along the whole Rhine river.
