Restrictions on entering Georgian orthodox churches - no photos, no hats, no shorts, no trousers for women, women should cover their heads with scarves. The hill it is located on offers a spectacular view of an ancient town situated at the confluence of two beautiful rivers. The tour continuous with a visit to the religious capital of Christian Georgia - Mtskheta. They call it the second Jerusalem as Christ's robe is berried beneath the foundation of Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Visit a medieval castle complex situated in a beautiful valley overlooking Zhinvali reservoir. There you hear a legend about love and ultimate betrayal. In Kazbegi you will visit a church situated on a top of the mountain and learn about the crazy marathon and the Christ's cradle. I spent two unforgettable days with Vazha to Kazbegi. He was professional, spoke very good English and was very accommodating. I did a private tour with Vazha in a clean and safe vehicle. He adjusted the itinerary so I could do some hiking in the Truso Valley, and stop at various sights along the way. The walk up to church and to the waterfall were very pleasant and relatively easy. I learned a lot about Georgian history, culture, daily life and food.
We had a GREAT time with Vazha! He was super knowledgeable and helpful, flexible when the weather wasn't cooperative and went over and above to secure a last minute change to visit a family wintery/dinner that was one of the highlights of the trip. HIGHLY recommend!

Vazha is a perfect guide in all dimensions. First, he is knowledgeable with great English. Second, he is punctual and always keep you on track. Third, he is very kind. Our returned flight was at 3am, and after the tour ended, he took us to the mall and then to have sulphur bath before drove us to the airport at 1am. Moreover, though with ankle sprain, he still accompanied us when hiking. If you are seeking for an ideal guide, especially if this is your first trip in Georgia, Vazha is the one.

Vazha is the best of the best. He is a truly incredible guide who embodies the best of Georgian hospitality. He is hugely knowledgeable about Georgia's history and culture, and goes out of the way to ensure that his tour members are content. His English is fluent (and at times better than that of us native speakers). We had a fantastic two day tour to Kazbegi from Tbilisi. Everything was smooth and it was a great success. You will get around in a comfortable Mercedes-Benz Viano (2010 make). The car has 7 passenger seats and is very specious. It's air-conditioned and is very clean. NOTE: We might have to take a very short (3km) four wheel drive depending on the condition of the road.
