Restrictions on entering Georgian orthodox churches - no photos, no hats, no shorts, no trousers for women, women should cover their heads with scarves. At church entrances there are baskets filled with scarves and waist aprons to cover your legs.

Jvari Monastery, overlooking Mtskheta - the former capital of Georgia, is a very early architectural wonder. The hill it is located on offers a spectacular view of an ancient town situated at the confluence of two beautiful rivers. The tour continuous with a visit to the religious capital of Christian Georgia - Mtskheta. They call it the second Jerusalem as Christ's robe is berried beneath the foundation of Svetitskhoveli Cathedral. Visit a medieval castle complex situated in a beautiful valley overlooking Zhinvali reservoir. There you hear a legend about love and ultimate betrayal. In Kazbegi you will visit a church situated on a top of the mountain and learn about the crazy marathon and the Christ's cradle. DAY ONE: - Pick-up at an agreed place - Jvari Monastery overlooking town of Mtskheta UNESCO - Mtskheta UNESCO, Svetitskhoveli cathedral where very important religious relics are kept - Short walk in Mtskheta town center - Lunch (not included)- delicious Georgian cuisine - Ananuri Castle Complex Climb one of the towers (optional) - Russian-Georgian memorial with breath-taking views of the valley and mountains - Drive to the hotel in Kazbegi - Overnight in Kazbegi DAY TWO: - Hike up (1hr uphill hike) or drive to the 14th century Church located 2170 meters above the sea level - Two km walk to a waterfall (note that it's not an easy walk) - Lunch (not included) - try Khinkhali in its birthpace - Mineral waters (optional) - Drive to Tbilisi Note: In winter, on rare occasions, road is closed, due to avalanche danger, if this is the case we will spend more time in Gudauri ski resort.
