A beautiful road to Kakheti lies through Gombori pass and forest (2 h, 100 km). It was a great selection of wineries that we visited, all unique in its style. The first one was one of the oldest wineries with tons of selection to learn from and had a historic touch to it throughout. The other two were more relaxed and scenic. Overall loved the experience.

The selection of 3 wineries were all top notch. The selection of the food pairings, detailed explanations by the winery staff made these visits even better. Levan is an excellent tour guide who is very professional & friendly. He provides detailed information about the wine region, Georgian culture and history. His vehicle is also very comfortable. We recommend the private tour since it is very flexible, you can take as many breaks as you need etc.

Your Tbilisi tour itinerary
Depart from Tbilisi towards the Kakheti region of Georgia, the cradle of Georgian wine. A magnificent road to Kakheti lies through the Gombori pass (2 h, 100 km). Our first stop will be in Telavi, the administrative and historic center of the region. A shortstop at the monument to Erekli II. -Continue to Schuchmann Château in Kisikhevi village. -Shumi winery -Winery Khareba (in the tunnel) owns a unique and rare wine cellar located in Kvareli, in the Alazani Valley. Carved inside the Caucasus mountains and opened in 1962 for the OIV World Congress, the cellar/tunnel is 7, 7 kilometers long. The best wines of the Kakheti region have been stored and aged here for decades. Lunch at a traditional Georgian restaurant, featuring local cuisine and hospitality. (optional) Going back to Tbilisi.
