This Region is a historic region in the northeast of Georgia, Located on the northern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Tusheti is bordered by the Russian federation. The area is thought to have long been inhabited by the Tushin population, the subgroup of Georgians. Tusheti area is the most remote among Georgian highland regions and it's a good place for hiking and visiting the ghost tower villages. In the BBC documentary serial - 10 the most dangerous roads (which is good now) of the world" Tusheti region falls imder number 5. . . I have toured in tusheti for about 40 times before and always with pleasure! There, you can have a chance to observe wild goats on the cliffs of Tusheti. There are no power lines, but the locals have solar panels and boilers for shower. Mountains of Tuhseti are around 3200-4400m (ASL) tall and Abano pass is around 3000m (ASL). . . Finally, I'm ready to listen your new, reasonable desires, missed in the itinerary and satisfy your mood by adding new locations to our rout.
Day 1. Tbilisi-Gombori pass-Telavi city-Abano pass (2926m ASL)-Tower village of Omalo (center of the region)- Short walk around the area (visiting keselo, fortification) Day 2. Walking (or driving half way) around PiriqiTa valley, visiting medieval centuries tower villages :Dartlo, Kvalo, parsma. Driving back to Omalo. 3. Walking ((or driving half way)to Gometsari Valley visiting medieval centuries tower villages: Bochorma, Dochu, Begela, Jvarboseli Driving back to Omalo. 4. Visiting village of Shenako and old diklo area (close to the bodrer with Russia). also, hiking up to the Old fortifications on the spectacular location. WE can drive to Shenako and than walk or just walk all the way up to diklo (abou15 km one way)- back to Omalo. 5. Omalo- Driving back to low-land: abano pass, Napareuli village- Sighnagi, medieval centuries village, on the hill of small Caucasus (wine tasting)- driving to Tbilisi Note: The customers can reasonably change an itinerary and places for visit.
