Every single story is unique and mine is not an exception either. It starts in Poland, when I as a tourist was trying hard to catch every detail of the new country, so at the first sight a standard trip with amazing tour guides, who helped to explore the new places, turned into a beginning of something new for me. It was couple years ago, but that feeling of excitement that comes with turning unknown places into very familiar spots, had never left me. I returned home and started to think of becoming a tour guide myself. Despite having a stable job, I could not help but constantly think of becoming a storyteller (yes, I just said story teller, instead of a tour guide). One does not just guide people through the historic sites in Georgia, here history is measured not in centuries but millenniums and every stone has a story to tell. So, Hello there, My name is Mari Tinashvili and I am a certified tour guide (a story teller as I would prefer to be called). I majored in Culturology and got BA in Arts and Humanities. I have been working as a tour guide since 2015. Hence I spent last 3 years communicating with some amazing people and rediscovering my country. The job takes a lot of skills, including some comprehensive knowledge in history, art and architecture and not to forget being an expert in dinning and night life is a huge part of it. Being born and raised in Tbilisi, I know where all its beauty is hidden. Basically one can find all the gems in details. Have you ever thought how one curve on a balcony decoration can turn a house into a piece of art? Well, that is quite possible if you are walking around the old town in my city. So, why would not you follow me on an adventure in an unknown but sometimes painfully familiar country of contrast and unique history? I will help you to turn unknown places if not into your home, at least into a location you would be willing to return at least once again. Overview of your Tbilisi tour

Georgia is one of the oldest wine regions in the world, way before Rome or Greece even started making wine. Many people believe that the word 'wine' comes from the old Georgian word 'ghvino'. The country has a continuous winemaking tradition of more than 8000 years. The earliest traces of the Georgian viticulture were found in the Neolithic settlements (6000BC) in Gadachrili gora (near Tbilisi ) . These days there are about 525 grape varieties in Georgia, more than anywhere else in the world. It's your time to taste Georgian Qvevri wines in local family wineries. I'm glad that I can show you my country and share its authentic sense of place and taste. As I am not a guide only but also winemaker who follows family tradition of wine making.

Mari was an amazing tour guide! Her deep knowledge of Georgian history, culture, and wine (which we were particularly excited to see and learn more about) was astonishing and we had the loveliest time. We would highly recommend a tour with Mari and we will absolutely look her up anytime we are in Georgia

FANTASTIC TOUR GUIDE! Mariami is an amazing tour guide who catered a 2 day tour perfectly for our group of 4 adults. She took us to small private wineries and larger commercial wineries as well as historical sites. We loved the history of wine making in Qvereri clay pots as well as the monasteries and cave town we visited. Mariami's knowledge of wine making and Georgian history was outstanding and exceeded our expectations. We would absolutely recommend her as a tour guide to anyone.

We loved this experience. Learning about the qvevrebi making process was fascinating and of course who doesn't enjoy drinking delicious Georgian wine? What made the day truly special was the obvious mutual admiration and affection between Mari and the charming and hospitable qverebi maker and winemakers. It gave the day a special, personal feeling that was the cherry on top of a must-do experience when visiting Georgia.

I thoroughly enjoyed my tour today and learned much more than just the wine agenda. My guide was very knowledgeable about the history, culture, and political situation in Georgia that it was value added beyond my expectations. Mariami's enthusiasm in telling the Georgia story was both infectious and educationally interesting to me and makes me want to return for more!

During our trip we Gombori Pass, (approx for 11:30 ) the picturesque road to Kakheti. We'll stop for pictures at its peak, 1620 metres above sea level. After Gombori, we'll reach Telavi, the largest town in Kakheti. Telavi is set in the vineyard-strewn Alazani Valley, between the Gombori Mountains and the Caucasus. We continue on our way to a local winemaker and his family to taste traditional qvevri dry wine and to know how qvevris are made. Also we visit one local small winery.
