David Gareja and Udabno Village Full-Day Private tour

Mari is a fantastic guide - very knowledgeable, kind and a good sense of humour. Our visit to David Gareja was well worth the amazing drive - so many different landscapes to see - it was peaceful, beautiful and moving. The time we then spent with the lovely family in Udabno Village is something we won't forget, and will be the highlight of our stay. Helping with the cooking was great fun for the whole family, and we were made to feel so welcome -The lunch was delicious. A real Georgian treat!

Mari's tour was fantastic. She and a driver picked us up from our hotel and for 2 hours while they drove us to the monastery she talked to us about Georgian history, culture, and her own history and pride in her work. She took us on a short hike to a view of the monastery, and then around the grounds, while giving great info about the site. We finished with a fantastic, filling lunch in the home of a local woman who showed my kids how to make khachapuri and kubdari. A unique and wonderful experience!

You can tell Mariami loves her job and her country from the way she put her standards and ethics in her tour. Comfortable vehicle and great driver and service. While I really enjoyed Dabid Gareja, the best part of the tour was the time I spent with an Udabno family where we learned how to make Kachapuri etc. The Ubdano lady was a brilliant cook, serving one of the best local meals of my trip - in big portion and varieties! The tour with Mariami was one of the most memorable experiences of my two weeks in the Caucasus. In particular the time we spent with a local family in Udabno for lunch, which was not only delicious but also gave a window into the lives of ordinary Georgian people. Mariami was an excellent guide, providing useful explanations with just the right amount of detail for me. I highly recommend this tour with her.

My tour began with a pickup at my accommodations in Tbilisi. The vehicle was a four-wheel drive, new, in good repair and clean. Our driver (George) was professional, friendly and drove safely. My guide (Miriami) was an exceptional guide; the wealth of information she shared about the areas we toured and visited was stunning; She brings the history of Georgia alive.
