I'm Andy, I am very tall, born and raised in Hong Kong. After finishing high school, I moved to the United States, where I lived, studied, and worked for 14 years. My career then took me to Shanghai for another 14 years, before I returned home to Hong Kong in 2020 during the pandemic. For 24 years, I worked as a civil engineer and project manager in construction — building bridges and highways in San Francisco, high-rises, luxury shopping malls, hotels, and villas in Shanghai, and industrial facilities in Hong Kong. Everything changed after a trip to South America in 2023, where I traveled through Patagonia, Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay. Along the way, I joined tours led by passionate local guides who shared their countries' history and culture with such enthusiasm that it changed how I saw travel itself. When I returned to Hong Kong, I knew I wanted to do the same — to share the history and culture of my hometown with visitors. So I earned my tour guide license and began a new chapter. I've now been a licensed tour guide for 3 years, specializing in private tours, history and culture tours, architectures and food tours. I'd love to bring you along and share the stories, flavors, and hidden corners of Hong Kong. I will be customizing your tour to ensure you can experience the real Hong Kong.

From Tea House to Market: A Hong Kong Food and Culture Journey A private, 5-hour chauffeured tour through two of Hong Kong's great culinary traditions — the tea house ritual and the wet market feast — with an iconic city sight in between. The Idea Hong Kong eats in two very different keys. One is quiet, ceremonial, unhurried — the clatter of teapots and steamer baskets in a tea house that hasn't changed its recipes in fifty years. Expect classics like har gow (shrimp dumplings), siu mai, char siu bao, cheung fun, and a warm egg tart to finish. This is where you learn what "yum cha" actually means — it's not just a meal, it's a social ritual. The other is loud, wet, and alive — market stalls where fishmongers call out the day's catch and chefs prepare your lunch. We help you pick, then we hand your selections to a nearby restaurant that cooks it to order, Hong Kong style, right in front of you.
You'll be picked up in a private car/van from your airport, hotel, or cruise terminal, and dropped off wherever you'd like at the end Stop 1: Dim Sum in an Authentic Tea House We start the day the way Hong Kong locals do — with tea and dim sum in an old-school tea house. Between the two food stops, we'll build in 1 or 2 Hong Kong sight, based on your pace and interests: A Local Temple (Man Mo Temple or Wong Tai Sin) Victoria Peak Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade and star ferry. Stop 2: Choose Your Seafood, Wet Market Style We close with a real neighborhood wet market where seafood is sold live, by weight, straight from tanks and ice beds. We helps you pick, then we hand your selections to a nearby restaurant that cooks it to order, Hong Kong style, right in front of you. Five things worth reaching for: Garoupa (Star Grouper) Mud Crab / Flower Crab Tiger Prawns Fresh Scallops Razor Clams Drop-Off Wherever you need to be — hotel, cruise terminal, or airport
