Hi, I’m Alan – your no-BS, licensed Hong Kong guide who turns a visit into stories you'll tell for years. Born and raised in Hong Kong, I've lived and worked in California, mainland China, and Korea, clocking over 1.6 million miles across the globe. After 40 years dominating international shipping, I retired and channeled that same drive into guiding—passing the rigorous licensing exams to become a fully certified professional. I've now led over 140 private tours (and counting), mostly for sharp American travelers and cruise ship guests who demand real value: authentic encounters, zero tourist traps, and the kind of insider access that makes their trip unforgettable. Having sailed on 15 cruises myself, I get exactly what shore excursion clients crave—seamless logistics, total flexibility, comfort without compromise, and genuine local immersion that feels personal, not packaged. I'm a master storyteller with a sharp wit and zero patience for boring scripts. Expect candid insights into Hong Kong's layered history, chaotic energy, lesser-known cultural layers and vibrant local scenes, and unbeatable street eats—delivered with humor and zero fluff. Whether it's decoding the city's colonial past, navigating vibrant markets like a pro, or uncovering lesser-trodden corners most visitors miss, I make sure you leave with memories that actually stick. Special requests? No problem—I've got you covered in advance. Want a private Tai Chi session in a quiet park or something completely tailored to your interests? Just say the word, and I'll arrange it seamlessly. Friendly, funny, fiercely passionate about Hong Kong, and always ready to go the extra mile. Let's skip the ordinary and make your time here legendary. Contact me to customize your perfect tour—because average isn't in my vocabulary. Tourist Guide: TG13125

Overview of your Hong Kong tour

During this action-packed 8 hours, you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the Victoria Harbor and also immerse yourself in the local neighborhoods to experience how locals live. Strolling in Central District, the “Wall Street” of Hong Kong, you can listen to my stories of how Hong Kong transformed from a tiny fishing village 180 years ago to a major global financial and transportation hub today. You can also taste local snacks and drinks created by Hong Kong people by blending the cooking skills and mixing the ingredients with the East and the West. I am sure you will take home some good memories and lots of cool pictures.

We had the most inclusive, informative and enjoyable time on our tour with Alan. What a kind, intelligent, warm and charming man he is. He took us to the most interesting places and shared with a few of his favorite eating spots. Alan went out of his way to make sure we were enjoying each moment of our tour. Always looking out for our best interests. We have made a dear friend in Hong Kong and hope we cross paths again. You would be lucky to have him take you on a tour. Jeff and Marcia.

Alan was a knowledgeable and flexible guide for our Hong Kong visit. He had lots of interesting stories to tell us and easily answered all of our questions. Although the day was rainy, Alan varied our modes of transportation to fit both the weather and our energy levels (subway or taxi). He took us to a delicious Dim Sum restaurant with a gorgeous view of the harbor as we got to enjoy, rest, and recover before starting the afternoon of touring. Since I am an avid photographer, he found opportunities for me to take beautiful, memorable photographs that will remind us for years of our tremendous vacation! Thank you again, Alan!
