Hong Kong Island is where Modern HK became- it is the center for both Political and military power, and Financial Might. This relatively short walking tour will be perfect if you are short on time and still want to have a real overview of the essence of how HK transformed into one of major cities of the world. Often compared to Manhattan due to its skyscraper skyline, at first glance Hong Kong island is quite modern, but it is has Chinese characteristics. Modern cafes are brimmed with customers, who are the same executives who would walk into a century old temple to make a prayer. Very few places if any combine this fusion of East meets West like Hong Kong. We will walk around 2 major districts and experience and see both traditional Chinese culture and history sitting side by side with colonial western influences. Come with me on this discovery tour of Hong Kong island and be amazed by its past and yet dazzled by its present!
Great tour all around, well worth the time. Andy is a terrific guide, knowledgeable and patient, always eager to share one highlight or another. Highly recommended! He also took lots of photos that he shared with us so we didn't have to worry about it. Everyone in our group (age 25 to 62) had a great time.

Our tour in Hong Kong was to be the last of many tours the 4 of us would take from our cruise ship visiting Japan and China. We thought that any of the prior tours would be hard to top, but were we surprised! The day was packed with many enjoyable moments and experiences. Andy took a lot of pictures and surprised us with a couple of video compilations afterwards. What an incredible city Hong Kong is and Andy is the best! If we were to ever visit Hong Kong again I would want to look up Andy as a friend!
