Where pandas live, Chengdu, Real China life! Hi there! I am Victor Wang. I am from Leshan where the Giant Buddha is and now live at Chengdu where the pandas live. I have been taking tourists around China for a few western tour companies between 2004 and 2011. During this time, I bought my first camera and then I fell in love with taking pictures. The magnificent views, the impressive persons, and especially the memorable moments with my guests gave me a fantastic memery. In order to spend more time with my family, I quited the tour leader job and then worked in Chengdu as a local guide and photographer 2 years ago. I have been most of the places of Chengdu, especially the poor, backward and minority areas, for both groups and pictures. All these built me a passion to Chengdu and I really want to show it to the visitors. On the other hand, after 10 years working with the foreigners, I knew what you want to see, Real China life, but not just the morden cement forests. I will share my working experience in the Panda Base with you when we visit there. I will lead you to meet the real monks or Daoists in the temple, even eat with them. I will recommend you to try the culinary(yummy!) gems off the beaten tracks in the city and you can also learn how to make them. I will introduce you to see the lama's sutra-debating at the biggest tibetan buddhism institute. I will sugguest you the right place and right time to take a best picture. In a word, I will show you the best of Chengdu whilst saving your time and hassle. Overview of your Chengdu tour
Chengdu panda base is the first captive panda research base in China and also the world. It is over 250 pandas now but developed from only 6 pandas in 1987. In the past 30 years, the panda base expanded 3 times and it is with a huge territory for the increasing panda population and also the massive visitors. We have started the pandas tour in this base since 2005 and we know the base the pandas as our hands. We will buy the admission ticket for every client in advance in order to save your time. Feeding the panda and seeing them up close was absolutely amazing! This is definitely the tour to take if you just want to see the pandas and feed them, and not have to clean out the enclosures as a volunteer. We had limited time, so Victor created a special tour for us and had his driver take us to the panda base and back to our hotel, which was perfect. Thank you Victor!

We had a great experience with Victor. After picking us up at the hotel he drove us to the panda base and explained us a lot about pandas and how they're looked after. Victor used to work with pandas and knows A LOT about them. We walked around the panda base and saw many pandas and fed a cute baby panda with some carrot sticks. After lunch, we headed to Mt. Qingcheng and had a quick tour in Chengdu. We ended up in the Opera, Victor helped us with the tickets and literally walked us to our seats!

Victor was an absolutely lovely guide. He was prompt, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He explained everything very well and his English was great. He was willing to change the plan to suit our needs, for example, he took us to eat at a halal restaurant, which was great!He took us to hike around the Leshan Giant Buddah one day and the next day we went to see lots of Pandas. His expert knowledge of Chengdu made the trip an exptremely pleasant one!
Your Chengdu tour itinerary
7:30 am -7:45 am Meet our guide who is with a "Pandasee" flag at the Exit A of Panda Avenue(South Gate of Research Base of Giant Panda breeding). He/she will take you to catch the clean and air-con public bus to Chengdu panda base in 10 mins. As we have bought you the admission ticket in advance, we can skip the tickets line but check in the panda base directly. 7:45 am-11:00 am The panda base opened at 7:30 am but the workers will start working at 8:00 am and they normally release the pandas out into the outside enclose to have breakfast at 8:30 am. Our guide knows every corner in the base and we have a special and efficient route to make you enjoy with more active pandas but avoiding the crowds. You will see over 30 black and white Giant Pandas, 20 red pandas, peacocks and black swans. 11:00 am-11:30 am After you enjoy with this lovely creature, our guide will escort you to catch the public bus back the Line NO. 3 metro station before 12:00.
