Leshan Giant Buddha and Huanglongxi Old Town Private Tour

We had a wonderful day with Victor (Wenhao) guiding us through charming Huanglongxi Old Town and the amazing Leshan Giant Buddha by boat. He introduced us to Boboji, a flavorful traditional local dish and shared much about the history of the entire area, including Leshan and Chengdu. Victor is very knowledgeable, personable and thoughtful, and made this a truly memorable day for us. We highly recommend this tour with him.

I had a wonderful day with my guide Victor. We did a day trip to Leshan from Chengdu. Victor was also my driver and spoke very good English. He was super informative about the places I was visiting. Please note that you will be walking and climbing stairs, it is the best way to enjoy this experience! We visited Huanglongxi ancient town and it was peaceful and tranquil. You should order a bowl of “1 string noodle’’. The performance was very entertaining. After that we stopped at a tea plantation, plucking new leaves to taste, I had a little caffeine buzz! Next stop was the giant Buddha in Leshan and it was surreal! Victor is really top notch and he gave so much history, so the climb up and down was made interesting! He was also a good photographer and that was a bonus. I requested a food tour in the old town of Leshan. I invited him to eat with me and we enjoyed dumplings, sticky duck, a local noodle dish, Bobo chicken and tried a local pancake dessert. This tour was epic and I highly recommend Victor. I asked him many questions before the trip and he was prompt and helpful. Thank you Victor!!!

Wenhao was a wonderful guide that planned a great day for our family. He reached out ahead of time to see if we wanted to hike up to see the Leshan Buddha or to take the more leisurely ferry. We opted for the ferry and this was perfect for us and our kids on a hot day. Wenhao knew all of the best places to stand on the ferry to get the best views and took great pictures of our family. We also loved seeing the old town, visiting Leshan for lunch and even stopping by the tea terraces. This was a perfect day with a knowledgeable and friendly guide!

The tour guide, himself from Leshan, knew exactly what I wanted put of my day in Leshan. Apart from claiming up and down the hill of the Leshan Buddha, he guided me to certain local food houses to sample the best of Leshan cuisine, something I greatly appreciated.

Our tour guide Bella was fantastic! It’s an over two hours drive to see the Leshan giant Buddha. You need to be prepared for that. Bella was very knowledgeable, polite, considerate. She also took us to try the local food and they’re all delicious. She made our visit a great experience. One thing you need to pay attention to is to read about the kind of car you’re booking and make sure it suites your need.
