Where pandas live, Chengdu, Real China life! Hi there! I am Victor Wang. I am from Leshan where the Giant Buddha is and now live at Chengdu where the pandas live. I have been taking tourists around China for a few western tour companies between 2004 and 2011. During this time, I bought my first camera and then I fell in love with taking pictures. The magnificent views, the impressive persons, and especially the memorable moments with my guests gave me a fantastic memery. In order to spend more time with my family, I quited the tour leader job and then worked in Chengdu as a local guide and photographer 2 years ago. I have been most of the places of Chengdu, especially the poor, backward and minority areas, for both groups and pictures. All these built me a passion to Chengdu and I really want to show it to the visitors. On the other hand, after 10 years working with the foreigners, I knew what you want to see, Real China life, but not just the morden cement forests. I will share my working experience in the Panda Base with you when we visit there. I will lead you to meet the real monks or Daoists in the temple, even eat with them. I will recommend you to try the culinary(yummy!) gems off the beaten tracks in the city and you can also learn how to make them. I will introduce you to see the lama's sutra-debating at the biggest tibetan buddhism institute. I will sugguest you the right place and right time to take a best picture. In a word, I will show you the best of Chengdu whilst saving your time and hassle. If you are planning to visit China, please do not miss Chengdu, if you want to visit Chengdu, please do not forget Victor! Let us meet as strangers but part as good friends! Overview of your Chengdu tour

I started doing this tour because I was born in Leshan and living in Chengdu now. This tour includes the two icons of Sichuan tourism. Chengdu Panda Base is home to over 150 giant pandas and 70 red pandas. As the world's largest panda research and breeding facility, the base has recently expanded from 69 to 238 hectares to enhance the visitor experience during peak season. In 2022, the expansion zone began trial operation, featuring new attractions such as the Panda Tower. Leshan Giant Buddha is recognized as the world's largest stone-carved Buddha statue. It stands at 71 meters tall and was constructed over 1, 000 years ago. You will appreciate its impressive size and admire the extraordinary craftsmanship that went into making this stunning monument. You will also learn about its spiritual importance in Chinese history and culture. Please note, this tour will view the Buddha by boat but not walking

Victor has been an amazing guide, very professional and at the same time very charming - speaking the best english found in China! We have visited together the Panda Base in Chengdu, very crowded in august, and he managed to find the best spots to see pandas in the outer space so the visit has been great and he made a lot of difference! He also guided us to see the Leishan Buddha by boat, and it was memorable. So in conclusion we really appreciated the passion he showed, his deep knowledge of the city of Chengdu, the explanation on chinese culture and how he presented us all the attractions visited. I definitely recommend this guide!!!

This rating is NOT FOR WENHAO W. but for a kid named colin. i was told Wang had somethng he needed to do and sent colin instead. Sadly, i didnt receive an email or txt msg indicating this change & took me sometime at the lobby to realize that i was looking for the wrong face. Colin was friendly and accomodating and though he clearly wasnt in his own field, he was great & the itinerary was perfect. driver though kept laughing in chinese like there was some inside joke while colin kept quiet in the car.

I had the panda reserve and Leshan tour with Victor. He is very knowledgeable and his English is excellent. It was a fun day for me. I learned a lot about the history of Chengdu and the places we visited. Watch out for his panda questions! They can be tricky :) I highly recommend Victor for anyone who will visit Chengdu.

Your Chengdu tour itinerary

7:30 am-8:00 am Pick you up at your hotel lobby and then escort you to Chengdu panda base. As the pandas prefer cold to heat, they will be the more active in the morning. 8:00 am-11:30 am Visit inside the panda base and take photos of the lovely pandas. Please DO NOT feed any pandas by your food. 11:30 am -12:00 pm Lunch time 12:00 pm-14:00 pm Drive by expressway from Chengdu to Leshan. Quick stop at a green tea plantation to use the bathroom and walk a little bit if you like. 14:00 pm-15:00 pm Leshan Catch the sight-seeing boat to view the largest Buddha in the world. You can also take pictures of the natural sleeping buddha from the boat. P. S. This tour is for the travellers who prefer the boat tour to the walking tour. If you wanna to view the Buddha by walking tour, please let me know and I will customize the tour accordingly. 15:00 pm-17:00 pm Drive through the expressway back your Chengdu downtown hotel.
