This is a great half day hike and the view is amazing of the city at the end of the hike. Denis educated us on the different types of plants and insects along the way. Would recommend the tour and Denis!

Hello my name is Denis and I was born in Sao Paulo. I am an official tour guide for Brazil (Ministerio do Turismo License), and I have a degree in International Relations, Organic Agriculture and I studied English in Australia. I am a very flexible person, and always do my best to help my guests in their expectations. I like Arts, Culture, Nature, and I am a musician in my free time. I have worked as a tour guide for the last 25 years in Sao Paulo and surroundings, and I love my job! Sao Paulo is the biggest city in the entire American continent and , to see it in a short time, you need someone that knows well the city, to select the interesting attractions and save time. There are many attractions in Sao Paulo, like museums, historical buildings, nice archtecture, beautiful neighborhoods, Market, street art, central park, churchs, shopping streets, wonderful restaurants, and a great cultural diversity. Every tour I make is a different new experience, because the city is different day by day, and the group is a new one every time. My favorite tours are "Ilhabela" , one of the most beautiful islands in Brazil, with beautiful beaches and waterfalls surrounded by the rainforest, and the hiking tours, where I can show the visitor everything about the rainforest. I was a boy scout as a kid, so I love Nature. Sao Paulo is surrounded by that Rainforest, and the beaches on Sao Paulo's coast are about 70 Kilometers away from the city. We also have beautiful mountain places to visit nearby, like the town of Campos do Jordao, that has a quite european style and feelling of the brazilian mountains. My availability changes very quickly normally, so please don't take too long to decide making a booking with me, for not loosing the date. Overview of your Sao Paulo tour
Walk into the original Atlantic Rainforest to observe the species of plants, possibly animals and insects of the big diversity of this forest. You can refresh yourself in the natural shower of beautiful cascades, hang on a vine, observe butterflies, flowers, animals and learn some history. You can learn about the interaction of the trees and plants that helps the maintenance of the jungle, the behavior of animals, insects and plants, and breathe pure oxygen produced in the middle of the forest. There 3 options of parke we can do this tour: 1- Cantareira Pedra Grande: we will walk to the top of a hill just beside the city, where we can have an amazing view and still see some forest on the way. 2- Cantareira Engordador: we can have a real immersion into the jungle and see cascades and some historical machines from the end of the 17th century 3- Jaragua park: it's a good combination of forest immersion, views and history, once that trail was started by the first portugese explorers in the 15th century

Denis is an excellent guide. He responded to questions in timely manner. He was punctual and provided excellent commentary of the park. We took a hike to the top of the hill, about 4.4 miles round trip, took about 3 hours. Along the way, observe vegetations, flowers and wildlife. The weather was perfect so hike was pleasant. Definitely recommend Denis as tour guide for your next trip

I booked Denis sorta last-minute following an airline flight change that left a hole in my travel schedule. It worked out perfectly, had a good (albeit brief) walk/hike in a national park (got in free since I'm old!). Denis knew the park rangers we met in the park. Overall, a good afternoon! Your Sao Paulo tour itinerary
I will pick you up at your hotel or airport and we will drive to the park you choose. I can help you to choose it giving more details about the parks and trails. Cantareira park is located on the north of the city, and Jaragua park on the west, both parks are located within the Sao Paulo metropolitan area. The possible trails to do in Cantareira park are: Engordador, that has a 3 kilometers long trail with ups and downs and different vegetation along the way. Nice cascades, big trees, vines, humid vegetation and a beautiful reservoir. Pedra Grande has a long asfalt little road to the top of the hill, where we can see an unique view of Sao Paulo, about 9 kilometers long (2 ways), crossing the rainforest, where is also possible to observe the vegetation and possibly some animals along the way. There's an extra trail to see a beautiful lake in a beautiful landscape spot. Jaragua park has a very steep trail to the top of hill, crossing the rainforest with animals and some historical attractions.
