Hello my name is Denis and I was born in Sao Paulo. I am an official tour guide for Brazil (Ministerio do Turismo License), and I have a degree in International Relations, Organic Agriculture and I studied English in Australia. I am a very flexible person, and always do my best to help my guests in their expectations. I like Arts, Culture, Nature, and I am a musician in my free time. I have worked as a tour guide for the last 25 years in Sao Paulo and surroundings, and I love my job! Sao Paulo is the biggest city in the entire American continent and , to see it in a short time, you need someone that knows well the city, to select the interesting attractions and save time. There are many attractions in Sao Paulo, like museums, historical buildings, nice archtecture, beautiful neighborhoods, Market, street art, central park, churchs, shopping streets, wonderful restaurants, and a great cultural diversity. Every tour I make is a different new experience, because the city is different day by day, and the group is a new one every time. My favorite tours are "Ilhabela" , one of the most beautiful islands in Brazil, with beautiful beaches and waterfalls surrounded by the rainforest, and the hiking tours, where I can show the visitor everything about the rainforest. I was a boy scout as a kid, so I love Nature. Sao Paulo is surrounded by that Rainforest, and the beaches on Sao Paulo's coast are about 70 Kilometers away from the city. We also have beautiful mountain places to visit nearby, like the town of Campos do Jordao, that has a quite european style and feelling of the brazilian mountains. My availability changes very quickly normally, so please don't take too long to decide making a booking with me, for not loosing the date. Campos do Jordao is an European mountain town which is the most popular winter's holiday destination for Sao Paulo's citizens. Influenced by Swiss, Germans and Scottish people, Campos has buildings, very nice hotels and beautiful weekend houses built in the European architecture. Very organized and clean, with leafy streets and charming neighborhoods, Campos has many attractions. The Touristic Center with European Archtecture with many shops, restaurants and cafes, the Classical Music Theater that hosts the International Winter Music Festival, where there's an outdoor sculpture museum in a park called "Felicia Leirner", The Governor's holiday house and Museum, the Chocolate factory, the Baden Baden Brewery, Horto Florestal Park with the Araucarias Forest (Brazilian native pine tree). Also the Itapeva Mountain (panoramic viewsat 2k meters above sea level), the Benedictin Nuns' Convent and Beautiful Landscape everywhere. This tour is a great option for relaxing in the mountains landscape of Brazil.
Denis is a very welcoming guide and we had a great time seeing a part of Brazil that is hard to imagine, but is certainly worth the time. We got the most out of our tour and never felt rushed. There is a lot to see and Denis helped us pick out the best things for us. He obviously loves his work and his country. I highly recommend this tour as a way to get out of Sao Paulo for a day.
Nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon, see a very interesting town in Brazil! Denis was knowledgeable in the area, was a safe driver and was very accommodating!
Denis is a great guide - personable, and fluent in English. This was our second tour with him (Sao Paulo highlights was the other one). This tour was awesome - the culture and sights and food and chocolate combined to make it a superb tour.
Karen and I booked Denis for the day tour to Campos do Jordao. Unfortunately we could not complete all things from our city tour the previous day. Denis graciously offered that we cover those first before heading to Campos. Although it is a long drive Denis provided excellent and interesting commentary during the day. Denis again was an excellent guide and great company. We both highly enjoyed our trip and have no hesitation in recommending Denis. He is an extremely personable and knowledgeable guide.
His local knowledge and great personality, sense of humour and passion for sharing his city with visitors was wonderful. Sao Paulo is huge, so with limited time, going with Denis was really the only way to see as many of the beautiful, historic, arty and quirky aspects of the city. My specially created garden tour was a highlight. I hope that others will enjoy this tour as well. Thanks so much Denis, for making my trip to Sao Paulo an unforgettable experience.
Denis is a great tour guide. I was alone on my tour to Campos do Jordoa and I felt like I spent my 10 hours with a friend, not a stranger. This is a good tour because there are many options of things to do in the city (you can't do them all) and Denis lets you know what they are and you choose where to go. Never guided or pressured to visit, shop, or eat at a certain place. It was all up to me. I could do the same tour next year and probably see all different things! Thanks, Denis!
- We will drive 2:30 h from Sao Paulo , crossing the country-side landscape, and drive up the mountains of "Mantiqueira" until Campos do Jordao. - In Campos we will see the Iptapeva Mountain (2000 meters above sea level) to observe the view of the entire valley - Then we can visit the waterfall park, the touristic village of Capivari with restaurants, shops, bars, the panoramic view of the city from Elefante mountain, the Music theater where the famous winter music festival takes place, the Felicia Leiner Sculpture Museum, the Governor's winter Palace, the Benedictins Convent, the Chocolate factory and the main Catholic church. -Horto Park and Butterfly park is optional. - Then drive back to Sao Paulo (about 2:30 hours) Please let me know if you would like to customize the tour.
