Hello my friend, and Welcome to PATAGONIA, my "neck of the woods". Why would you choose me as your local guide? Trustworthy. Knowledgeable. Experienced. Straightforward. Cheerful. Accommodating. Careful driver. Non-smoker. Always willing. Planning on giving me a visit? Great! Let's plan together one of the best tours you'll remember and cherish forever. There's two main tour options: a) Nature, with wild animals in their natural environment. b) Welsh culture in Patagonia. As a professional Tour Guide and driver, with decades of experience and knowhow, your ride will be a secure and comfortable one in my Renault Duster, hoping you will live that day to my motto: DETAILS MAKE THE DIFFERENCE ! RESUME. Born in Argentina, raised by religious and hardworking parents, had the chance of living during my childhood in different parts of Argentina and also Michigan, USA. As for the past four decades I've been working, studying and enjoying my life in Northern Patagonia. Happily married with Elisa for thirty years, and with Welsh, English, Spanish and Italian blood in my veins, all I can say is. . . BIENVENIDOS, (Welcome) to "my backyard". Since tourism is confined to a few months a year, my parallel "other job" is Piano Tuner and Tech. Summing all that, I consider myself blessed with what I do and were I live. Come and be a part of it, at least for a day! Hope to hear from you soon. All the best, Roger PROVINCIAL Tour Guide Credential, issued by Province of Chubut, License Number R-8 PROFESSIONAL DRIVING LICENSE I work for a licensed local tour operator EVyT 12828 (a code that means the company is authorized) My car can fit up to 3 people comfortably. Please inquire for larger groups.

To get to Punta Tombo and back we must drive approximately 250 miles round trip. Once at the rookery we'll first visit the visitor's center (time permitting), that will give us a glimpse of the Magellan Penguin's life, plus an easy walk of about 2 hours among them. The different stages of a penguin's life in our area are: arrival of males during August, females in September, marriage, lots of sexual activity and burrow digging also during September, egg laying during October, chicks births in late November, feeding and keeping them cozy until February, molting, preening, fighting, posing for pictures, and a long list of etcetera's. After a pee-pee stop and a quick snack like a local "empanada" or "chorizo" (not included), we head back to the port. On our way in/out, we may see wildlife next to the road like Guanacos, Rheas, birds, etc.
Amazing guide, amazing tour! Exceeded my expectations how professional, knowledgeable, well spoken our guide was. I highly recommend this guide and this tour.
Our tour with Roger was fantastic! He is extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and attentive, very entertaining, and with great sense of humor. The communication with him before the trip was excellent. He gave us very detailed information on where to go and how to meet him. He was simply perfect in everything what he did. Perhaps, because of this many of the animals representing Patagonia were showing up in our view making the tour even more exciting.
This was certainly a 5 star tour. Rogelio was knowledgeable and able to share so many interesting facts about the sequins. He also answered my many questions and shared a lot about his life in Argentina. He was prompt and the transportation was clean and comfortable. His strength was communication as he kept in contact before the tour and told us the best ways to beat the crowds and have the best experience. I recommend this tour to anyone. Rogelio is an experienced and accommodating guide.
Rogelio is a fantastic tour guide. He has decades of experience and detailed knowledge of Punta Tombo & the Magellan Penguin colony. He is very flexible in adapting the tour to your needs and did a superb job of getting us ahead of all the big tour buses. There were almost 2,000 people visiting the penguin colony on our day but, we were there ahead of them and finishing our tour by the time the big crowds got there. This is the kind of personalized VIP service that makes 'TBL' our provider of choice.
Rogelio is one of the best guides we ever had and we travel a lot. Highly recommend this great excursion!
We really enjoyed this tour. Rogelio was great at communicating with us to make sure we knew where to meet him on the dock. He was very knowledgeable about the area and the penguins and was able to tell us about the penguins in a very entertaining way. He made sure that we were comfortable in the car and on the tour. We really appreciated his passion and expertise and friendly personality. The water and snacks were a nice touch.
