Kia Ora My name is Robbie and I would love to show you around my home. Except for periods overseas travelling, working on camps in America and working on cruise ships, I have lived here since I was two. It is a fantastic little city - named by Lonely Planet as "the Coolest Little Capital in the World" - with a beautiful harbour, easy to walk around and home to a thriving movie industry (of which I have been a part, working on 14 movies to date). Whenever my overseas friends visit I enjoy taking them on a "tiki-tour" around Wellington; around the Bays, up to Mt Victoria for a scenic view or, time permitting, up to the Brooklyn Windmill. If a walking tour in town is preferred, there's Te Papa Museum, the Cable Car up to the Botanical Gardens, the iconic Beehive and shopping on Lambton Quay. I am happy to adapt the itinerary and times as necessary. A small city by world standards - only 400, 000 population - but with a vibrant theatre and nightlife if that's what you're into, Wellington is also the southernmost capital in the world and the gateway to the South Island via the Cook Strait ferry. Nau mai, haere mai. Come and visit and let me show you my home. 8/7/19 PLEASE NOTE: Due to my "normal" work commitments, as of July 2019, I will need to have at least one month's notice before booking a Tour, particularly in summer. If you are wanting to book within that time-frame, please message me to check my availability. Thank you. I have lived in Wellington most of my life and I love the city. I have been fortunate to have been involved as an extra in a number of films made in Wellington's thriving movie - including the Lord of the Rings trilogy and King Kong. I have an NZTA issued Passenger Endorsement for my Driver's Licence, as well as my Private Hire Registration. I have also recently had my First Aid certificate renewed. I have recently worked for a year and a half on cruise ships based in England, during which time I enjoyed going on tours with passengers as often as I could.

Overview of your Wellington tour

I will meet you at your accommodation and we will briefly visit NZ's iconic Parliament Buildings - the Beehive - and Mt Victoria (with it's 360deg views of Wellington city and harbour). From there we will go to Ngā Manu Nature Reserve in Waikanae. We will spend about an hour there, during which time you can walk around in the beautiful bush, visit our amazing native birds and try and spot a Tuatara if they are around. We will have lunch in Waikanae before EITHER driving back down the coast to Kāpiti OR around Wellington's rugged South Coast. At QE2 Park in Kāpiti, we will visit the US Marines' Memorial and Kāpiti Beach. (There is a Tram Museum at QE2, but it is usually only open on weekends and the trams are not guaranteed to be running. ) I will drop you off back at your accommodation or cruise ship.

Robbie was such an amazing tour guide that we booked him for two days in a row. He built a perfect tour for us that ended in dropping us off at the airport to catch our flight. We loved the Cable Car experience and observed all the beautiful flowers at the Wellington Botanical Gardens in the middle of winter. We especially enjoyed our time at Zealandia where we spotted too many birds to count, various ferns and trees, and even a live weta! We even had time for a delicious lunch. It was a very memorable day.

We had a great tour with Robbie when we visited Wellington. Pickup and drop-off went smoothly. We enjoyed our time at Zealandia, hiking and enjoying the wildlife. Mt. Victoria lookout was beautiful and our drive down the coast was beautiful. Thank you for a great day Robbie!

We had an excellent day with Robbie! At Zealandia Wildlife Sanctuary we enjoyed a peaceful and unhurried tour with his guidance and commentary on the plants and birds we encountered. It was such a relief not to be in a big group that would scare off the birds even before seeing them. We chose to change the scenic drive to a visit to Te Papa Museum where Robbie had detailed and concise explanations on the Maori migration history. Lunch was great too!

Our tour of Wellington and some beautiful surrounding areas was fantastic. Robbie met us very close to our cruise ship. His commentary was excellent. In addition to all the expected city highlights, as well as a number of other sights that were clearly special to him. We had a great lunch at a great restaurant favored by locals. We had a wonderful day!

Spending the day with Robbie was a real pleasure. He was extraordinarily accommodating to our needs. We did a combination of tourist and non-tourist sites as well as lunch where most locals frequent. We highly recommend Robbie.
