In Japan, 'Tours Guides' are regulated according to the 'Guide-Interpreter Business Law', which came into effect in 1949. Article 3 says that anyone who wants to be a guide has to pass the examination given by Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and acquire a license issued by a prefectural government. Persons doing business without a license may be fined up to 500,000 JPY. report error
