Kyoto is a beautiful city with a rich history. I am a national tourist guide who runs a travel agency offering tours on Buddhism and meditation. I have conducted tours for government officials, company study tours, and academic tours for university and graduate students. Of course, I have also guided many individual groups, including honeymoon couples, families with young children, and retired groups. I studied commercial law in college. After that, I worked for a major company and then studied Buddhism in graduate school. I have a Master's Degree in Buddhist Studies. While I was a graduate student, I lived in a 700-year-old Zen temple for three years, cleaning and doing meditation. Since then, I have enjoyed a career in the tourism industry to this day. When I was a university student, I studied in Texas, USA for a year under the exchange student program. I also enjoyed a wine trip to San Francisco and Napa Valley on my honeymoon. I still have many friends in the United States. Many of my tour participants are from the U.S., Canada, Europe, Singapore, and other countries. My tours are unique in two ways: First, they focus on Japanese religious culture, notably Buddhism. Japanese Buddhist temples are deeply related to gardens and tea ceremonies. The second is geisha culture. I am a board member of the Gion Festival, the largest festival in Japan with a history of 1150 years. Gion is a sacred place for professional entertainers called geisha. You can learn about Gion's history, economy, personnel hiring, and education system. National Government Licensed Guide Interpreter (EN00848 ) Gion Festival official board member Master's degree in Buddhist Studies University lecturer for overseas students in the summer program (History of Japanese Buddhism and Japanese Culture) I am not a driver, but I can accompany you in your vehicle. Private vehicles can be arranged (fees apply)
