Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and Itsukushima Miyajima

This was our third day with Mike in his home area of Kyoto and he imparted a wealth of knowledge and fun facts! We traveled via the trains and navigated the area around Uji with ease. We had our first "sushi conveyor belt" lunch.... fascinating... similar to Dim Sum in Chinese dining experiences. Mike made a dinner suggestion in the Gion area for local "Blowfish".... the fish was presented in multiple courses, both sushi style and fish to be cooked at the table. We are thrilled to have had the opportunity for this unique experience- thanks to Mike! He was easy to communicate with and flexible in altering the schedule, if needed. Many thanks and memories!!

Our tour of Osaka with Mike was exceptional! From the moment he picked us up at our hotel in Kyoto, we knew we were in for a wonderful experience. Mike’s deep knowledge of Osaka and Japanese history enriched every stop with fascinating stories and insights. What truly set him apart was his patience and flexibility—he tailored the tour to our family's interests, even making adjustments in the middle of the tour. Mike is also an excellent photographer, offering great suggestions for memorable pictures. He was always accommodating, never rushing us, and making sure we felt relaxed and engaged throughout. Mike is someone special. He is so kind, generous and knowledgeable it made our trip to Japan very memorable. He took us to visit places we would not have made it to ourselves. He was so considerate to our family interests. He also takes a lot of photos which we are so appreciative of as when we’re travelling, usually one of us misses out. On my return home to Australia, anyone mentioning they are visiting Kyoto I will be insisting they book a tour with Mike.

Wow, what a great tour we had!! Masaki (Mike) was more than we expected. He arrived a little early to our hotel and I met him as I returned from getting coffee. He gave us a good plan for the day with his suggestions but was very flexible to what we wanted to see as well. He was very engaging and friendly. As a retired high school history teach his passion for Kyoto and Japanese history was evident which made the sites we visited that much more special. Thank you for the special day Mike!!

"Mike" was one of the best guides EVER! I went to the wrong meeting place (despite hime sending me pictures). It took an hour and a half for us to connect. He went out of his way to go out with us the NEXT morning as well to make up for the time we missed and then some and would not take any extra money! He is a retired history teacher and clearly loves teaching. He was especially patient with my teenage children. I would absolutely recommend any of his tours!

Mike was a highly informative and passionate tour guide. We really enjoyed learning so much of the history of the samurai, shogun and emperor. Mike also has intimate knowledge of the influence of zen Buddhism and Shinto during the historic past of Japan. We learned a ton and would recommend Mike to anyone seeking a well-studied and highly intriguing tour.
