My first visit to Las Vegas was in 1993 and I know then this was the place for me. In 1995 I relocated from Germany (Hannover)to Henderson. The China Ranch Date Farm was discovered by a chinese miner in the late 1800's, he developed water and planted fruit and vegetables also raised meat for local mining camps. Amargosa Vally and Hot Springs are on the edge of Death Valley, part desert and natural Hot Springs with mineral water. Shoshone museum shows you early living in this area, from homes, farming and mining. also footprints from prehistoric animals. The Winery in Pahrump is one of the best in Southern Nevada. most of there grapes are localy grown and the have now over 400 National Wine Awards.

-Our first stop:China Ranch Date Farm, a Jewel in the Desert, here you can sample some Dates and browse the store. -Then we travel through the Amargosa Valley -Second stop:- The Old Western Town of Shoshone and Museum (sorry museum is closed on Tuesday's). -Third stop:- One of the most popular wineries in Pahrump where you can sample some local wines and maybe have a bite to eat in their fabulous restaurant.
