When I was a young man my father would take my brother and I on trips from Albuquerque NM to Colorado to visit relatives. Along the way dad would stop at every road-side historic sign and take pictures of us standing in front of the markers. I was always intrigued with the photography my father did on his Kodak Brownie camera as well as with the historical information listed at each stop. Apparently I was influenced by both because as an adult I became a Historian and Park Ranger for the National Park Service and also an award winning Professional Photographer. These days, I have a great love and passion for taking people to different sites sharing historical information and great appreciation for the scenery, landscapes and beauty throughout our fine State of New Mexico. Please join me on a hike, walk, photo excursion, Steam Engine train ride, photography outing or to plan a half day, full day, or custom multi-day tour just for you and your group. BA degree in Communication and American Studies with concentration in History of the Santa Fe Trail, University of New Mexico.- Former Site Historian and Park Ranger National Park Service. - Lifetime resident of New Mexico.

The tour begins with a stop on a bluff overlooking the city where I provide a short history about the Puebloan people that created the amazing rock art. I will also point out some geological features along the Rio Grande Rift and the volcanos where lava flowed down to the 17 mile escarpment that became the canvas for the petroglyphs. A brief stop at the Visitor Center to view a short 20 minute video describing the migration, history and culture of the Puebloan people and their connection to over twenty thousand identified rock art will enrich the experience of our visit. We will then drive to some trails to see first hand the petroglyphs preserved and protected in the Monument.
- Preview a 20 minute film at Petroglyphs National Monument. - Visitor Center located at 6510 Western Trail NW 87120 - Hiking on Monument Trails that will takes us directly to the petroglyphs that were created by the Native Puebloan people who migrated from the four corners area around the year 1150 CE. Some of the petroglyphs were also created by Spanish people when they arrived in the 16th century..
