In 2008, I had the opportunity to attend a Tour Guiding course administered by The Institute of Tourist Guiding, this intensive course culminated in examinations, both practical and written. The time spent studying and in practice, led to winning awards and in 2013, I became 'Tourism Star of the Year' for Manchester. This led onto'National Tourism SuperStar of the Year' in 2014. John was terrific! A wealth of knowledge about Manchester and its history. We really felt like we got to know the city from an insider’s perspective. He was also entertaining and not just dry facts. He also gave us a great dinner recommendation. Would definitely recommend.
John gave us a wonderful introduction to Manchester. We learned a lot about the many innovations Manchurian have brought to the city and the world. Going by taxi allowed us to see many fascinating sites such as Roman ruins, the hand dug canal that made Manchester a more reliable inland port city, the incredible renovations of the industrial textile buildings. It was quite nice and we highly recommend John’s tour!

John is a great host for Manchester visitors. He has a clean, comfortable vehicle with a moon roof making it ideal for looking in all directions, including up. I took the 2 hour tour and felt like I got 4 hours worth of content.

Had a wonderful, memorable and inspiring tour w John today. He's so well versed and educated on the history and current affairs of the city and surrounding areas. Also, he was super punctual and very communicative the entire time. To add, he takes great pics also. Love when a person shows passion for their city. Would surely recommend him for first time visitors. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give him a 100!! Looking fwd to my nxt trip to Manchester… will def give him a shout!
