In 2008, I had the opportunity to attend a Tour Guiding course administered by The Institute of Tourist Guiding, this intensive course culminated in examinations, both practical and written. The time spent studying and in practice, led to winning awards and in 2013, I became 'Tourism Star of the Year' for Manchester. This led onto'National Tourism SuperStar of the Year' in 2014. We were on an ancestral pilgrimage, sent John places and addresses around Manchester, Accrington, Preston and he took the time before the tour to research each piece. My family migrated to Fall River, Massachusetts and found work in the needle trades. John gave a presentation on Manchester's dominance in that area. This was an emotional time for us and we cannot thank John enough for his excellent commentary and willingness to customize this tour. John is a delight!
John was GREAT!! This was my first trip to the UK. John gave a wonderful history & overview of both Manchester and Liverpool while in route. Got to see some of the top Premier League stadiums. Went to see Old Trafford, Anfield, Goodison Park, and the new Hill Dickinson Stadium. While in Liverpool John even swung by Pier Head and Mathew Street for some photo opportunities. If you're looking for a guide, I would highly recommend booking with John, A+++.
