Hello! My name is Manuel, Italian born, but with an international heart. Since I was a child, I have been passionate about languages, cultures and history. After completing my studies in Italy, I enrolled in an Egyptology course at the University of Barcelona, where I found my vocation for sharing the past with others. My journey as a tour guide began in 2008, when I left Italy to improve my English, moving to the U.K., followed by experiences in Morocco, Australia and the Netherlands, where I started working as a professional guide. In 2018 I moved to Seville, and later to Cádiz, where I became a fully licensed guide, and currently hold two official guide licenses: GA-07325 and GHP 00630. I completely fell in love with this extraordinary region. Andalusia is a true melting pot of history and traditions, and Cádiz, in particular, has an incredible ancient past and a unique spirit. My tours are not only about history: they are also about gastronomy, local culture, the spirit of the people of Cádiz, and always with a touch of humor. I love bringing history to life, turning old stones into living stories and creating personal experiences for every traveler. As Marcel Proust once wrote: “The only real voyage consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” This is exactly what I would like to share with you.

In my opinion, islands have a special kind of soul, and Cádiz is no exception, even if it’s no longer regarded as an island… Follow me and I’ll tell you why. This place was shaped by trade, battles, and nature. Since the arrival of the earliest settlers, Cádiz has captivated different civilizations, each leaving its mark and giving the city its unique personality. Today it is famous all over Spain for the joyful spirit of its people—Carnival is one of the most important in the country, and don’t be surprised if a local starts chatting with you even without speaking your language; that’s part of the charm and the warm character of the Gaditanos. Its historical legacy, with Phoenician and Roman remains, is considered the oldest in Western Europe, but Cádiz is far more than ancient stones—it’s a way of life. And life without food isn’t life, so you’ll have to try some of its flavours in the local market. Come and join me, and discover the most joyful city in Spain!
-After meeting by Plaza San Juan de Dios, we'd walk to the adjacent City Hall square. -Next, we'd start to explore El Pópulo, one of the oldest inhabited neighbourhoods in Europe, with its narrow cobbled streets full of stories. -Afterwards, if open during the day & time of the tour, we'd visit the Roman Theatre & the Phoenician Tomb. -We will then admire the New and Old Cathedrals—one recalling the Medieval past and the other the Colonial age. If open at the time & date of the tour, we'd step inside the Old Cathedral, and on request, could go inside the New one too. -We’ll continue to the Mercado de Abastos, heart of local life, where you'd taste some of Cádiz’s traditional flavours. -We'd then visit Plaza de la Mina with its beautiful garden. -We'd end at Plaza de España, where I’ll reveal the city’s true connection with the American continent. The itinerary is flexible, so feel free to tell me if you want to add or skip anything. We could include a short coffee break of about 20 min at any point.

This tour will be entirely on foot, but please contact me if you need transportation and I could customize the tour for a different cost. Since this is a walking tour, I recommend using comfortable shoes and sunscreen in the warm season.
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain
I suggest meeting at Plaza San Juan de Dios. That being said, I could also meet you at the Port of Cadiz or directly in your Hotel within the historical city centre.
