Hello! My name is Manuel, Italian born, but with an international heart. Since I was a child, I have been passionate about languages, cultures and history. After completing my studies in Italy, I enrolled in an Egyptology course at the University of Barcelona, where I found my vocation for sharing the past with others. My journey as a tour guide began in 2008, when I left Italy to improve my English, moving to the U.K., followed by experiences in Morocco, Australia and the Netherlands, where I started working as a professional guide. In 2018 I moved to Seville, and later to Cádiz, where I became a fully licensed guide, and currently hold two official guide licenses: GA-07325 and GHP 00630. I completely fell in love with this extraordinary region. Andalusia is a true melting pot of history and traditions, and Cádiz, in particular, has an incredible ancient past and a unique spirit. My tours are not only about history: they are also about gastronomy, local culture, the spirit of the people of Cádiz, and always with a touch of humor. I love bringing history to life, turning old stones into living stories and creating personal experiences for every traveler. As Marcel Proust once wrote: “The only real voyage consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” This is exactly what I would like to share with you.

Baelo Claudia is a place deeply rooted in my heart: it's the first archaeological site I visited in Spain, and also where I met my wife. We actually had our first date here, and later got married in this unique place as well. Set between golden dunes and the deep blue Atlantic Ocean, this ancient Roman city offers an unforgettable blend of history & nature. As we explore, we'll cross fields, farms, vineyards and later untouched woodland, where the journey itself becomes part of the experience. Once at the site, we'll stroll go across remarkably preserved streets, temples, and the Forum, walking in the footsteps of the city's ancient inhabitants. On clear days, even Africa might be visualized on the horizon, with the sound of the ocean accompanying us. Wild coastline, crystal-blue waters, and the occasional retinta cow complete a landscape where time seems to slow down. This excursion brings together archaeology, nature and the soulful essence of the Cádiz coastline.
-After we've gathered, we'll enjoy a roughly hour and a half long drive to the village of Bolonia. -On arrival, we'll take a short coffee break at a local cafe either in the village or by the beach (depending on availability on the day you book). -Afterwards, I'll lead you exploring the main areas and ruins of Baelo Claudia: ·The ancient city gate ·The basilica square ·The market ·The forum ·The Temple of Isis ·The Capitoline temples ·The theatre ·The port. -Finally, we'll drive back and I'll drop you off where I picked you up from. I'd be more than happy to customize your visit, so feel free to get in touch. Please note that ongoing excavations or maintenance work may alter the starting point of our itinerary. Note: Keep in mind that this is an archaeological site, so the ground is uneven and there are a few steps; nothing extreme, but in case of reduced mobility or any special requirement, please contact me before booking.

Depending on the size of the group, we'd use either a sedan car or a van, both Mercedes Benz or similar. Regardless of our transportation, we'll still walk considerably so I recommend comfortable shoes and sunscreen in the warm season.
Cádiz, Andalusia, Spain
- If you come from a cruise ship, I'd pick you up from The Port of Cádiz. - If you are coming with a vehicle of your own, I suggest meeting at Plaza Sevilla. - If you are staying in the town centre, I suggest meeting at Plaza San Juan de Dios.
