Hello! My name is Leticia, your local guide in Cádiz. I love the beach, exploring new places in my town, and wearing colorful and fun clothes. I'm from Cádiz city, born and raised, and I've been living here since the day I decided to come back home and change my life. Let me tell you a little bit more about it: I left Cádiz in the year 2000 to study at University and, later on, for work purposes. Of course, I was coming back to visit my family and friends, but it wasn't until 2018 that I came back for good. I studied Psychology and worked as such since I finished my master's degree. But life is complex and one day I decided to change my professional career and re-invent myself. After years of living in several cities and countries and meeting people from different parts of the world, I understood the uniqueness of the history, culture, traditions, and customs of Cádiz, that beautiful place in the south of the south. I had the need to learn more about it, so I started to study again and share what I had learned with my friends, breaking with preconceived ideas and stereotypes about Spain in general and this province in particular. Sharing my culture encouraged me to venture into tourism, but the massive way in which it is presented today did not fit with my values and with the close and personal point of view that I wanted to give. So I started collaborating with a company that worked in tourism in a more familiar way, with small groups and in more select and less crowded places. But, again, they forgot to include my province. . . After this, the need to show my province and city grew in me. And here I am, showing my city to visitors who want to discover it in a unique way - on a very small scale, without rush. What I do is slow, tailor-made, and sustainable tourism: Supporting the local business, the products of this land, its art, its artists, and its hidden beauty. I guide through my city using a very local point of view, showing the culture and history with care and with the aim of giving an authentic experience to those who want to live the real Cádiz. The thing is that I've been always in love with Cádiz and its culture. I think it has great potential and, no doubt, a lot of history to tell (based on the fact that it is the oldest city in Western Europe). Since my teens, and thanks to my dad who is a historian, I've been showing (in a very unofficial way) my city and province to friends and family until, finally, I'm doing it in a professional way. I love guiding small groups because we all have the chance to know each other, to listen to each other and, of course, to have a much better tour quality. I really enjoy showing different places to the visitors, avoiding the typical tourist areas, and having a complete immersion into the culture of my city. My goal is for you to live a pure Cadiz experience, from the eyes of a local person, being an accomplice of our culture and living a journey through its history, to discover the reasons for our customs and ways of living. I hope you enjoy it. - Member of the European Tour Operators Association. - Andalusia Local Guide Credential. (Valid also for the whole country)

If you want to know the history of Al-Andalus, you need to take this 1, 2 or 3 days road-trip visiting the beautiful little villages in top of mountains, located in different points of the natural park of Grazalema and the Guadalete Valley, with breathtaking views and hidden stories. On your trip to Andalusia, you cannot miss the White Villages, named for the white lime of their walls that contrasts with the nature that surrounds them. There are 19 villages in total in the north east of the province of Cádiz. This entire area was the site of human settlements for 250, 000 years, since prehistory, leaving many traces behind. Iberians, Romans, Visigoths and Arabs lived in those villages for over 3000 years, before the catholics took the area. This means that the influence and heritage of all the cultures, specially the muslim one, is easy to recognise when we walk through their narrow and winding streets and with steep slopes, which will reveal fantastic corners.
This itinerary could be easily modified and adjust to your needs and/or expectations. Bear in mind that the maximum number of villages we could visit in one day is up to 3. (Depending on the distance between them). This means that we could create a 1 day excursion or more than one day if you would like to visit all the villages. All the excursions should depart and return to Cádiz city. The villages I recommend to visit are: • Arcos de la frontera • Setenil de las bodegas • Grazalema Because all the villages are hiding in nature, we could also go for a walk following trails or finding old archaeological paths. There is plenty to see . If you want to visit a different village or walk a green path, please, do not hesitate to contact me to create and customise your perfect road trip.
