Solveig did an excellent job adjusting our tour to avoid the rain and high winds we encountered. We had wonderful conversations about the history of the city and life in Bergen. It was a pleasure spending the morning with her.

Welcome to Bergen! I am a Private Guide that offers Private Tours all over Bergen. Bergen is a city I welcome in my life, always! Come rain or come shine :) I was born and raised in Bergen. Bergen is known as a City of Culture as well as Gateway to the Fjords. I have International experience from working for SAS, Scandinavian Airlines, several years. I am also an Authorized Bergen Guide and Oslo Guide, and speak English fluently. Presently I love to walk around Bergen while taking you to the historic sites and telling about the city's fascinating history. A walking tour may also include a ride with the Funicular, Floibanen, up mount Floien for a great view of Bergen and it's surroundings. A short walk or hike on mount Floien is an option. Among my other favourites are visits to Troldhaugen, the home of composer Edvard Grieg, the art museums (Munch and other Norwegian painters), organic bakery (the best "Skillingsbolle" and sandwiches). At the Bergen Aquarium I love watching the feeding of the penguines and sea-lions - they even have tarantulas and anaconda there …. all behind glass; thankfully! Tours can be individually customized. Looking forward to be seeing you soon in Bergen! I can also guide you into the fjords surrounding Bergen. Authorized Bergen Guide since 2007 and Oslo Guide since 2017. Air Purser for SAS, Scandinavian Airlines. Registered Homeopath. In Norway you need a professional driver license to drive for services. My tours are either by public transportation, walking, or I need to hire a car with driver. It is also possible to use taxi. This must be paid on the spot. You may pay by credit cards.

This tour will give you background information of Bergen's history during the last millennium as well as panorama view from Mount Floien, 320m/1000feet high. We'll be strolling along the historic Wharf, on UNESCO's World Heritage List, walking up and down the alleys and learning about trade and daily life in the Middle Ages. Our walk continues into cobblestoned streets, which we have a lot of in Bergen! The tour continues on foot to the funicular station where we'll enter the funicular taking us to the top of Mount Floien. The thrilling ride takes 6 - 7 minutes. At the top you can have a magnificent view of Bergen city and it's surroundings. The perfect place for a selfie! I may also be your photographer as well as pointing out places of interest. You may even want to take a photo of yourself in the arms of a friendly troll on Mount Floien. The troll is located a few meters away from the view point, otherwise it may get dizzy … ;) The funicular takes us back to the city centre again

We had a wonderful time with Solveig and learned so much about the history of Bergen. We changed the tour a bit as we had already been to Mount Floien and Solveig was flexible. We enjoyed touring many of the historic landmarks around Bryggen and she ensured we experienced not only the main areas but also unique and interesting features off of the common path. You'll have a wonderful time with Solveig- we did!
I found Solveig to be a great local guide for what I wanted to see. She knows a lot of history for the area which is really helpful to learn while touring. The rain stopped just as we reached Mt. Floyen and we spent quality time in Bryggens. An added bonus was her dinner recommendation for after the tour and her ability to convince the restaurant to accommodate me without a reservation, and the food was incredible!
An excellent introduction to Bergen's history. Our guide got us to the front of the line for the funicular, saving us about an hour waiting. Moreover, when our ship relocated during the night, she was flexible and responsive, meeting us at the new location without delay.
Lovely day with Solveing. She is interesting, knowledgeable and fun to be with. She showed us many hidden gems in this beautiful city.
Solveig was a wonderful tour guide. My husband and I appreciated her patience, showing us her beautiful city at our pace. We would highly recommend her.
Walk at the Wharf. Walk from Wharf to Funicular station. Ride on the Funicular up and down Mount Floien.
