Welcome to Bergen! I am a Private Guide that offers Private Tours all over Bergen. Bergen is a city I welcome in my life, always! Come rain or come shine :) I was born and raised in Bergen. Bergen is known as a City of Culture as well as Gateway to the Fjords. I have International experience from working for SAS, Scandinavian Airlines, several years. I am also an Authorized Bergen Guide and Oslo Guide, and speak English fluently. Presently I love to walk around Bergen while taking you to the historic sites and telling about the city's fascinating history. A walking tour may also include a ride with the Funicular, Floibanen, up mount Floien for a great view of Bergen and it's surroundings. A short walk or hike on mount Floien is an option. Among my other favourites are visits to Troldhaugen, the home of composer Edvard Grieg, the art museums (Munch and other Norwegian painters), organic bakery (the best "Skillingsbolle" and sandwiches). At the Bergen Aquarium I love watching the feeding of the penguines and sea-lions - they even have tarantulas and anaconda there …. all behind glass; thankfully! Tours can be individually customized. Looking forward to be seeing you soon in Bergen! I can also guide you into the fjords surrounding Bergen. Authorized Bergen Guide since 2007 and Oslo Guide since 2017. Air Purser for SAS, Scandinavian Airlines. Registered Homeopath. In Norway you need a professional driver license to drive for services. My tours are either by public transportation, walking, or I need to hire a car with driver. It is also possible to use taxi. This must be paid on the spot. You may pay by credit cards.

On this tour we'll walk at the Wharf, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the historical heart of Bergen. The narrow alleyways will make you feel like stepping back in time to the era when the Hanseatic merchants dominated Bergen's trade, and you'll learn about the stockfish trade, daily life in the Middle ages, and about the Wharf as a secret hide-out during World War II. From the Wharf it's a short walk to the Bergenhus Fortress with the royal stone hall, Haakon's Hall, and the Rosenkrantz tower. At the end of the tour we'll walk through narrow alleys where people actually live.

This was the perfect 3 hour tour with Solveig. She was very knowledgeable about Bergen with great historical stories about the area that we would have never known otherwise. Also hidden areas that we would not have explored on our own. Highly recommend this tour if visiting Bergen. Thank you Solveig for a memorable day.
Solveig was a wonderful ambassador of Bergen. So knowledgeable and friendly. It was great to learn about the history of the city, important buildings and local flavor.
Solveig was an excellent guide and gave us a great overview of Bergen history and culture. Also pointed us in the right direction for some specific shopping needs.
We had a great tour with Solveig! She is lively, well informed and delivers a lot of good information with a sense of humor. With her stories, she made history come alive. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of Bergen. Thank you, Solveig!
Solveig is a charming, patient and very knowledgeable guide. Her English is excellent. We appreciated Solveig’s willingness to accommodate physical needs of pace and rest. We got an excellent overview and historical context of Bergen. We are delighted with our experience and can confidently recommend Solveig as an excellent guide for Bergen.
Walk through the alleys at the historic Wharf, Bryggen. Walk inside Bergen fortress area. Walk past St Mary's Church into narrow cobblestoned streets. Too much walking? A coffee stop is optional.
