Hello there. My name is Tanja. I am a freelance tour guide from Kotor. Kotor lies at the deepest end of the breathtakingly beautiful Bay of Boka Kotorska, nestled between the sea and the mountains. It is listed as one of world's UNESCO sites, truly one of the most beautiful places you will visit. My roots are here. Being in love with my town and very passionate about my country, its history and heritage, I decided to become a guide and share my passion with the rest of the world. I did this fourteen years ago; started of with big groups, but realized soon that this was not the best way of learning about a place you are visiting. The best thing to do is to be in contact with locals, as part of a smaller or family group. This offers far more opportunities to have a direct conversation, share experiences and learn a lot from one another. This is the reason why I prefer working with smaller groups - everything is far more interesting and personal. I offer a variety of tours in Kotor and the surrounding coastal area, as this is my home. But, since I hold a National tour guide license, I can take you to different places inland. Feel free to contact me, and I can tailor a tour for you according to your preferences, timing and interests. To say that I would be happy to be your guide to this amazing place would simply be an understatement. It would be my honor to meet you, greet you and present to you all the wonders of my home. I am really looking forward to this. See you soon! Tour guide Licence issued by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism, no 919 BA in English and Italian Languages Valid Driving Licence

We will do the tour of the Old Town with the Maritime Museum, learn more about the lives and adventures of the most famous local maritime captains. I will tell you the story of all delicacies that were produced locally and then exported to the world through the shipping industry. We will visit together the traditional green market of Kotor, where we will have a local food and wine tasting. I think that the best medium of learning about other cultures is food. Then, we will move on to one of the most important local maritime captains' villages- Prcanj. We will make a short photo stop there. The views are lovely - you will be able to take pictures of Perast and its two islands, across the Bay from Prcanj. Next stop is Tivat, Porto Montenegro. Kotor holds the memory of the glorious past of sailors; here we will see their future. Porto Montenegro is a very modern and posh place, a luxurious marina for mega yachts, the complete opposite from historic Kotor.

I could meet you across the street from the Port of Kotor. The port is fairly small, and at the very entrance there is an underground crossing, with an escalator- you simply cross the street there, and I would be waiting for you on the other side, at the top of the stairway, holding a sign with your name on. Or, I could be waiting for you at the very entrance to the port, holding a sign with your name.
