Overview of your Beirut tour
Sidon or Saïda (Arabic: صيدا, صيدون), is the third-largest city in Lebanon. Name derived from Sidon the son of Canaan, Its name coincides with the modern Arabic word for 'fishery'. Sidon has been inhabited since very early in prehistory. It was one of the most important Phoenician cities. From there and other ports a great Mediterranean commercial empire was founded. Main sites to be visited:the sea castle, khan elfranj(caravansary), Debbane palace, soap museum and old souk(market). Tyre (Arabic: صور), is an ancient Phoenician city and the legendary birthplace of Europa and Dido (Elissa). Name derived from "rock" . Tyre originally was formed from two parts the Island and Mainland, Alexander the Great connected the island to the mainland by constructing a causeway during his siege of the city. Main sites to be visited the island including gymnasium, pool, roman bath , road, housesand the mainland including Necropole, Aqueduc and the Hyppodrum which is one of the world heritage.
