I am a third generation certified guide. I have been working in this business for more then 20 years (as a tour guide, a tour leader, a translator and the tour organizer). I have experience as a tour leader abroad (Turkey, Egypt). I also took part in the conference dedicated to Baalbek in Aix-en-Provence (France) in 2018. I enjoy showing my native city (Baalbeck) and my lovely country to our visitors , and make them love Lebanon as much as I do. It is amazing how many historical places and attractions are in this small country. Everyone can find something they will like here: from world-famous ancient temples and medieval fortresses to modern buildings, from dizzying mountain landscapes and serpentines to spectacular sea views, from the vibrant quarters of Beirut to the secluded quiet streets of traditional Lebanese towns. Being at the crossroads of great civilizations, every meter of my country is steeped in centuries-old history, which I would like to share with my tourists. I conduct my tours in a easy simple way to give my clients the opportunity to feel and enjoy the places and sites. Also during the tour I try, if possible, to acquaint tourists with locals and their life. I want to fully reveal the spirit of my country not only through sightseeing, but also by exploring Lebanese cuisine and customs. As a native of Baalbeck it was always my dream to make this kind of tour-Baalbeck full day city tour. Most of tourists combine Baalbek with other destinations, but after my long experience , I got the feeling, that its better to see one city with a such huge archaeological complex during one day, instead of visiting in a hurry several cities . In Baalbeck there is not only the famous temple complex, but also other interesting attractions, which I would like to show you. During the tour we will see some hidden parts of Baalbeck: along with the old ruins, the modern city life, locals and will try traditional food. The tour program includes visiting of: the quarry, where the megaliths were cut for the temples (with the Stone of pregnant woman); the temple of Jupiter; the temple of Bacchus; the temple of Venus; medieval ruins; the Palmyra hotel (the oldest hotel in the middle East); the Baalbeck's souks (where you can taste local dishes and sweets) and on request-some Baalbeck's mosques and churches.

Despite some postponements on our part, our tour worked flawlessly. We were picked up and on the way to Baalbek Charbel patiently answered all our curious questions. Charbel is a very friendly, funny and competent guide. His tour was totally informatively and a lot of fun and brought us closer to the history of Baalbek. He knows the area like the back of his hand and you feel that you are in very good hands with him. It was a wonderful day! A tour with Charbel is absolutely and totally recommended!
My wife and I spent a really enjoyable day with Charbel in Aanjar and Baalbek - with a tasting of top wines on the way back to Beirut. He is an excellent, knowledgeable and informative guide, and added hugely to our understanding of his country's ancient and modern history. (And nothing can prepare a visitor for the mind-blowing splendour of Baalbek!).

Charbel is an informative and entertaining guide. I had the impression I could ask any question about Baalbek and he would have the answer. He is clearly extremely knowledgeable. He arrived promptly to collect me and we had an entertaining discussion about all things Lebanon. An excellent day out and therefore highly recommended.
Charbel is fantastic. Charbel arranged for a driver (who was also great) to meet us at our hotel and take us to Baalbek. Both Charbel and his driver were very open and we a great conversation about Lebanon and life in Lebanon. At Baalbek Charbel was incredibly good at pointing out to us intricate details we would have never seen on our own. The ruins are truly stunning and he made them much richer than I ever expected. he also took us for lunch at a locals only joint that I could have never found alone.
departure from Beirut , I suggest to start 8 30 am , but I am flexible to start earlier or later. -arrival to Baalbeck. (2h road). - visiting the quarry (30mn), medieval ruins (30 min) and temples( 2 h). - visiting the city souk's with lunch in local restaurant (1h 30 mn). -on request-visiting of some mosques or churches in Baalbeck (30 min) -departure from Baalbeck -arrival to Beirut(2h road).
