Buongiorno! My name is Michela, welcome to my ToursByLocals page! I’m an enthusiastic and passionate tour guide and I work in Venice, Vicenza, Padova and Palladian villas. I was born and raised in Vicenza, a Unesco World Heritage Site, and my love for art probably started there when I was very little. That is why I decided to move to Venice to study Art History at the Ca’ Foscari University and to become a tour guide. I’ve been working as a licensed tour guide for 15 years now, and the experience I gained and the knowledge of my land allow me to offer quality tours, fun and engaging at the same time. Before being a guide I’m a friendly and curious person who likes stories, anecdotes, and legends too. Whenever I can I like going off the beaten path, to discover something unusual. I love to share my passion for Art and for the beauty of the region where I have the chance to live. I can’t help but be amazed every time I walk around Venice, the magnificence of the Renaissance paintings, the hills and the villas in the Land of Venice. My tours are for those arriving in my region for the first time, but also for those who have already been here many times and want to discover something different. I really look forward to get in touch with you and to welcome in the Land of Venice soon! More about me: Licensed Local Guide since 2010 Licensed Tour leader since 2013 Masters degree in History of Arts and Preservation of Cultural Heritage, 110/110 with honours - Bachelors of Arts degree in Preservation of Cultural Heritage, 110/110 with honours I also worked many years as a guide in important art exhibitions, I was the event manager of an Associations of Architects, and I also did an internship at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice where I worked mainly with kids.

Andrea Palladio (1508-1580) was a brilliant architect: today considered the father of American architecture, he worked mostly in Vicenza, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This tour will take us to discover the most important buildings designed by Palladio in Vicenza, as well as two villas in the countryside. We will start with Villa Foscari, known as the Malcontenta, the only Palladian villa along the Brenta River: a one-of-a-kind residence with a timeless charm. We continue our visit in the historic center of Vicenza to discover the most important buildings by Palladio such as the Teatro Olimpico, the first indoor theater of modern time, the Basilica Palladiana, the Loggia del Capitaniato and Palazzo Chiericati. After a short lunch break, our tour ends with the most iconic villa by Andrea Palladio, the Rotonda, an example of beauty and perfection that has inspired generations of architects.
- Departure from Venice with private car (15 minutes drive) - Visit of villa Foscari la Malcontenta - Departure to Vicenza (approx 45 minutes drive) visit of Vicenza city center with time for your own lunch - Visit of villa Rotonda - Back to Venice (45 -50 minutes drive) Please note that villa Foscari and villa Rotonda are both private villas and they are not open every day. That's why this tour is only available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. There is the possibility to ask for an exclusive opening of villa Rotonda the other days (with extra costs). You will meet me and driver in Piazzale Roma in Venice at the foot of Calatrava Bridge (Bridge of Constitutution). The tour with me ends at villa Rotonda. The driver will accompany you back at Piazzale Roma in Venice. If you're not staying in Venice it is possible to start and end the tour in another area, upon requests.
