I have been working as a tourist guide since 1987 and love to share my knowledge, not only of history and architecture, but also of the flora, fauna, traditions and mythology that make Sicily a special and truly unique area of Italy. Chiara and the driver were awesome - for the driver, lots of very steep and hairpin turn roads - I’m prone to motion sickness but I felt nothing. Mt Etna was spewing ash and he could navigate around it and still give us great views Chiara was one of the best guides we’ve ever had and we travel a lot all over the world. She was informative, efficient, funny and most importantly, adapting to our needs and desire. The trip was well planned and we got to see everything we wanted and a pace that was brisk but was perfect for us. I imagine for others who would have a different set of interests she’d make them feel like that is how she plans trips. She was completely booked out but when I reached out to her directly she was able to fit us in - so if the date you want is not available confirm with her - she was wonderful

Chiara was a super tour guide! The tour of Mt Etna and Taormina was perfectly organized. She suggested we arrived at Mt. Etna before the tour buses. Great idea! She has a wealth of knowledge about the whole region. Additional information: My wife is disabled and has limited walking capability and Chiara quickly adapted the tour to meet our needs. Unbelievable day. Chiara is very knowledgable. The first part of the tour on Mount Etna was fascinating. Chiara must have been a geologist in her past life. I felt like I was back in college taking a course in volcanoes. My wife who is not a "rocks" kind of gal was mesmerized by the geophysics. The combination lunch wine tour was the best. The appetizers lasted over 1 hour for the first flight of tasting. Finally Chiara's comparitive analysis of Greek to Roman theater was very insightful. Highly recommend
Your Taormina tour itinerary
We will pass several villages such as Zafferana Etnea and Santa Venerina to get to 2000 meter. There you can take an easy walk around the Silvestri craters ( it takes about 15 minutes ) or you can have a look at the souvenirs stores or taste the local honey directly from the producers getting over there with their little trucks. In the bars yo can find the typical liquors and they also let you watch a video about the last eruptions. If you have time and interest and the weather conditions allow it, you can take the cable car to go up to 2650 meters. Then we will go to Taormina to visit its highlights such as the ancient theatre, the cathedral square, the Odeon, the Palace Corvaja. Of course we can customize the tour according to your needs and interests focusing on the subjects you like the most.
