This tour combines together the best you can visit in one day tour. We start the tour from any place the client wish (port, railway station, hotel) and our first stop will be the medieval village called Savoca. Savoca it's a beautiful village at approx 30 min from Giardini, it's well known because Coppola used it as main location for the famous movie the Godfather, but the village moreover has some nice sites to visit (the 12th century limestone arch, the Pentefur Castle, the amazing view of the volcano Etna and more). We spend around 1 hr to enjoy the beauties of the place and then we leave. Second site it's the volcano Etna, we drive approx 1 hr to reach it; along the way we enjoy stunning views of the coast and the wineyards. We stay no more than 1 hr, visiting some extint craters and having a walk around. Our 3rd stop is Taormina, the pearl of the ionian sea, one of the most beautiful town in Sicily; here you'll have approx 2 hrs of free time to visit the amazing town with a guide/map, then we go back
We had a fantastic tour of Mt. Etna and Taormina -- with a few additional stops along the way -- with Iggy. He is very knowledgeable about the area, and his English is excellent. This tour allowed us to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. You'll walk away with a great appreciation for the area, and a desire to visit again for a longer period of time.
What a wonderful day. Sicily is mountainous so having a driver/ guide was essential to us. Our guide was knowledgeable and kind. The drive to Mt Etna was amazing. And it snowed at the top! He selected a beautiful place for lunch, a family run restaurant and the views were spectacular. I wish we had more time! Ignazio is a great guide, knows Sicily and a great driver on the hairpin turns. You will be very happy in selecting him. And Sicily is beautiful. I wish we had days not hours.
