I'm Paolo, I'm from the beautiful land of Sorrento, I've been in the tourism business since the age of 16 and after a Degree in Communications, I became a fully qualified and licensed Archaeological Tour Guide of the Campania Region in 2014. I'm a native English Speaker completely in love with the area I was born in, live and guide in: Capri, Sorrento, Pompei, Ercolano, Positano, and Amalfi are only some of the beauties of this magical place I call "home". I think living in a privileged place like this inspires two different needs: the desire of protecting it in the way you can, but also the desire of sharing with others the beauty you live in (possibly in the most respectful way possible!) This is one of the main reasons why I started working as a tour guide to start off with, and this is the reason why I still try to do it with the same energy and passion as the first day. A long time ago (I'm getting old!) I decided I wanted to be a tour guide and did all I could to achieve the result. I love this job as much as I love the interaction with guests, sharing stories, and learning about different cultures while having the possibility of being a small ambassador of my Region. I really feel that responsibility! I once promised myself: "if I ever end up sounding like an audioguide, that will be the day I must have the awareness of saying "enough!" and I'm trying my best to make sure that moment never comes! Overview of your Sorrento tour
Who doesn't know about Capri? The most beautiful gem of the Bay of Naples! Visit the island with it's stunning views, jaw-dropping cliffs and bright colours. The tour starts in Sorrento and after a short public ferry ride to the island, we will visit the highlights of the island trying to focus on what it means to live the whole year round on the island. So not just the big brand shops, but also an overview of what happens on the island from a true insider's point of view.

He provided great information about the island, saw all the sites of Capri, Anacapri, took a boat tour around the island and enjoyed a fantastic lunch. Paolo was a master at planning our day and making connections work so we were able to see everything on our list we wanted in the time frame we needed. The historical/ cultural information provided was somewhat basic but did give us a few insights about the islands history. We appreciated Paolo being on schedule,his energy, and making sure we fit in everything we wanted to see.
Your Sorrento tour itinerary
- I will meet you in Sorrento's port with the tickets to Paradise ready in my hands and after a 25 minutes ferry ride we will land in Capri where a private convertible taxi will take us to Anacapri, one of the two villages on the island. - In Anacapri, we will enjoy the peace of Monte Solaro's chairlift which will take us up to ho the highest point of the island to fall in love with the scenery which only that specific 360° view can give us. - After some free time in Anacapri, we will proceed to Capri Centre where we will enjoy a walk to the Augustus' public gardens and admire one of the most famous views in the world: the view of the Faraglioni rocks. - A little bit of time for shopping and/or lunch and then we will return down to the port by Funicular before re-boarding to Sorrento. *Optional can be a shared boat trip round the island which will last one hour and give the possibility of admiring the beauties of the island from sea level* Please note this tour can be customised.
