Hello, and thank you very much for visiting my web profile! My name's Felicia and I'm a restorer, an art historian and a tour guide, specifically for families with children. I have worked for many years in restoration laboratories in Naples, Sorrento, Cava de' Tirreni, Pompeii and Oplontis. My area of expertise is the restoration of the pictorial film into frescoes, paintings on canvas, wood and statues. In 2014 I obtained the license to work as a tour guide of the Campania Region delivering tours in both Italian and English. At present, I have the fortune to be also involved in the tourist industry, organizing and designing itineraries and expecially guided tours. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with people from different ranges of cultural, professional and academic backgrounds. The tours that meet me the most are those with families with children and adolescents: I can now claim to be an expert in this type of services! Licensed tour guide of the Campania Region (2015) Master's degree in History of Art at the University "Suor Orsola Benincasa" of Naples - final dissertation about the History of Restoration, with particular reference to the defense system of the Sorrento Coast from Roman times to the Unification of Italy (2007) Post-graduate degree master of Tourism Management at the University "Suor Orsola Benincasa" of Naples (2021) Qualification in Restoration of Paintings on Canvas and Tableaux at the Institute "M. Visconti" of Naples (2000) Training courses on Excavation's Principles and Methods, Restoration Diagnosis, and the Conservation of Ceramics at Faenza's "M.I.C. Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche" (2000-2001) I attended a seminar on Contemporary Art, Management and Settings at the Ara Pacis in Rome (2009) According to my country regulation, my guidance is allowed inside museums, archaeological areas, cities and more. Overview of your Sorrento tour

This tour consists in a marvellous walk around of the ancient Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, buried from the ashes of the volcano Vesuvius in 79 a. D. In 4 hours I'll be able to show you most of the highlights of both towns! A walk in Pompeii is a very intense experience; you'll have the feeling to be in a town that is still alive. I will tell you about the history of the town and how the Romans lived, showing you all the most important public buildings and private houses. Herculaneum is much smaller but better preserved then Pompeii. While Pompeii had been covered in four to five meters of ashes, an avalanche of muds 20 meters thick had buried Herculaneum instead , which made Herculaneum houses second-story preserved too, carbonized wooden , paintings and mosaics are still preserved. An English speaking driver will be at your disposal all day, with pick up and drop off at your accommodation

We can't thank Felicia our guide and Giovanni our driver enough for the wonder experience of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Giovanni picked us up on time at our hotel in Sorrento and drove us to meet Felicia at Pompeii and Herculaneum. Afterwards he drove us to Naples to our hotel. The day was complete thanks to Felicia and her knowledge of the area and the archeological sites. Her personal work experience with fresco restoration and how the digs and artifacts were uncovered was fascinating. We came away thinking we were master archeologists!! We are older clients and she managed to keep us going even though it was at our usual slow pace. You can't go wrong booking anything with Felicia or with Tours by Locals.

Felicia was awesome and the tour was amazing! She set up a very professional driver who was very kind and prompt. She set up lunch at an amazing winery between stops at the ruins. Felicia was knowledgeable and approachable. She shared probably a small amount of her wealth of knowledge at each visit. She also helped us beat the crowds while still seeing all the important sites.
