Hi everybody, my name is Marcello. I'm specialized in high grade archeological and historical tours. Born and raised in Naples and belonging to a very old Neapolitan famiIy I've got the official license of Professional Tour Guide in 2000. Archaeological and historical tours are my core business but always based on keeping my clients "AWAY FROM THE MASSIVE TOURISM". I love my job. I love my country. I love giving not simple orientations but the "real essence" of every single spot you are interested in, observing all safety measures to reduce the Covid19 diffusion. My range of activities is the whole Campania Region, including all its archaeological and historical sites, like Pompeii, Herculaneum, Napoli, Paestum, royal palaces and museums. I'm also specialized in the painting of '500 and '600, like Caravaggio, Tiziano, Raffaello, Jusepe de Ribeira, Battistello Caracciolo, and all the painters who" mastered the light". In 2015 I've got specialization in roman currency as well. I do cooperate with the U. S. Syracuse University, and over the past years, I had interesting experiences while working with some International TV productions as expert in archeology and art. Some reviews about me have been written by Kerry Mullis (Noble Price), Donna Tart (Pulitzer in 2014), Zubin Meta ( World's greatest Orchestra Director), Jude Law, Hugh Jackman, the Jobs. . . . . . . . You can see me on the CBS Sunday morning news runned on May 19th 2019 or using the link https://www. cbsnews. com/video/a-perfect-cup-of-espresso/ I also worked with Samantha Brown, american documentary maker, for the documentary 'Passport to Europe' and recently I've been working for the worldwide magazine Conde N'Est Traveler as local expert in history. What else I can say, this is what I do with passion and responsibility……. . and always having a lot of fun. - Licensed Professional Tour Guide by Regione Campania Aut. n. 4071 - High Specialization Course in "Pompeii and the Sub-Vesuvian Roman Cities" - CFE, Cambridge First Certificate, British Council Institute of Naples None

Overview of your Salerno tour

In September 1943, during the Second World War, in the Gulf of Salerno took place the biggest landing in the History called Operation Avalanche by Allied Forces (just Normandy landing, in 1944, was most important in the developing of the war). Thousands of soldiers, mainly from the United States and England were disembarked to liberate Italy from the german troops. Why to see a war spot like this? because it's more than simply emotional. Because it's not just part of our local history. Because it's part of everyone history. Because tells about sacrifice, honor, respect and above all. . . Freedom! Walking on the same beach, on the same sand where thousands of young soldiers from over ocean lost their life for a free world, visiting the the MOA Museum and watching weapons, photos and documents about that period is a deep experience that change the way you see the life, the way you think the concept of freedom. Let me share with you my knowledge and my years of expertise guiding with a memorable tour!

Your Salerno tour itinerary

The tour moves through the Salerno Coast where the Allied Forces disembarkment took place in 1943. We visit the MOA, Museum of Operation Avalance, with its Emotional Room, an interactive and virtual space in which visitors can interact with authentic audio/visual documents and references, walking along our "past" through an unexpected multi sensorial experience. The day goes on with the Beach of Capaccio, where we can see some "german bunkers", the Tobacco Factory where one of the bloodiest battle took place, the War Cemetery of the Commonwealth Forces and the visit of the Archeological site of Paestum with its breathtaking doric temples, where the U. S. 5th Army Headquarters was placed. To take a "breath" over this emotional tour we can stop to have a lovely lunch to some buffalo farm, where they can let you taste the real "buffalo mozzarella cheese", served with slices of local tomatoes. A quick tour of the factory, why not to see the baby buffaloes just born it's a lovely experience you'll never forget.
