Welcome! My name is Roberto. I am an Archaeologist and an official Tour Guide of Italy I obtained bachelor degree in Cultural Heritage, master degree in Classical Archaeology and the diploma of Post-Graduate School in Archeological Heritage. I have been an licensed guide of Campania Region (Italy) since 2011 and I have also worked as an archaeologist all around the Mediterranean sea: Populonia (Livorno, Italy), Paestum (Salerno, Italy), Olbia de Provance (Hyères, Var -France), Efestia (Lemnos, Greece), Phaistos, (Crete, Greece). Since I was a child I loved history of ancient Greeks and Romans and also the Art history from the Middle Ages to the Avanguardie of the '900. I live in Salerno, a characteristic sea town located between the paradise of Amalfi Coast and the charming Cilento. Thanks to my job and passion I working and travelling all over the World discovering different people, cultures and stories. I'm going to offer my knowledge in the art-historical and archaeological field for anyone who wants to understand and investigate the incredible richness of my country. Together we will discover the secrets of ancient Greeks and Romans that already in the past they knew the incomparable beauty of those places. With me you will know also other ancient civilizations and royal families, like Lombards, Normans, Anjous, Aragons and Bourbons, that ruled and enriched the Region with Monuments of incredible beauty and historic value. I'm a member of Slow Food (an international movement that strives to preserve traditional and regional cuisine and encourages farming of plants, seeds and livestock characteristic of the local ecosystem) and so I organize specific tours to those who want to discover the authentic pleasures of wine and traditional food. I also do online pre-trip consultations to help traveller to get their best from their vacations. Availability, preparation and organization are my greatest battle horses to transmit the love that I feel for my country and its history. This is a great gourmet-cultural tour! As your personal archaeologist specialized in Greek archeology I'll show you the impressive Greek temples of Poseidonia-Paestum. As member of Slow Food association I'll take you in an authentic organic farm where there is produced the best Mozzarella cheese from buffalos milk.
We had a great tour with Roberto at Paestum. He was very knowledgeable about the site. It was fantastic to be there with an archaeologist!! The tour of the buffalo farm was fun and we enjoyed tasting all the buffalo milk products!

We learned so much about the history of the Paestum area and then enjoyed a truly exceptional meal at Caseificio Barlotti which was also arranged for us by Roberto. We had a wonderful tour with Roberto. We first went to the mozzarella farm and saw how the cheese was made... loved it! Then Roberto took us to Paestum ato see the Greek and Roman ruins. Roberto is very knowledgeable and explained things to us very well.
First we will go to discover the ancient ruins of the graeco-roman city of Poseidonia-Paestum with its impressive temples and the marvelous National Museum. Then we will visit an organic farm where we will do a walk to admire the buffaloes, with smells and noises that are integrated with the modernity of the stables. The wisdom of craftsmanship. The path ends with a meeting with the taste of dairy products or for a light lunch to taste other delicious products from Cilento area (ricotta, cheese, sausages, vegetables. . . ) (optional).
