Overview of your Salerno tour
The Amalfi Drive is one of the most beautiful roads of the world, famous for its breathtaking views. Coastwise there are many little towns, each different from the others. One of them is the picturesque Positano that will charm you with all its incredible legends and beautiful tiny streets full of clothes and souvenirs shops. Also you can't miss a visit in Amalfi, one of the ancient Martime Republics and homeland of Flavio Gioia, the inventor of the compass where is the St. Andrew Cathedral. On the road you will find Ravello, the town of music, its views has enchanted thousands of visitors during the year from Greta Garbo to Richard Wagner. It is located on a rocky promontory at 350 meters above sea level in a unique panoramic position, ideal for a lunch on the landscape. Moreover the coast offers to its visitors all the flavours of the Neapolitan cuisine. Along the road are planned a lot of stops for pictures in the best sights. I'm pleased to share history, legends, customs, traditions of my homeland!

Diego was our guide for eight+ hours. The four of us loved it. He picked us up at our apt/hotel in Salerno which helped us. He asked what we wanted to do and we said Coffee. He took us to Sal De Riso pastry shop for the most delicious pastries we'd ever had. We had him stop at a pottery "factory" for some shopping but mostly we wanted to look and stop for pics. We made it all the way around to Sorrento for a delightful lunch. Traffic was crazy since the ferries weren't running. He was able to maneuver around and back and up and down from all the other cars as we American sucked air! Then he took us all the way back to Salerno. We felt we had really seen the peninsula. His van for 4 was very comfortable. He was able to tell enough history of the area to make it interesting.

He even arranged a private guide at Pompeii for our group and got us safely back to the ship in plenty time after a full day of site-seeing!
