Hello, my name is Matteo, I am a native Sardinian and I've lived most of my life on this beautiful island, except for a couple of years in London and 6 months in Australia and France. I've also worked (as a civilian) for more than 8 years in an important international NATO base in the south of Sardinia. I have a Master's degree in foreign languages (English and French) but at the university, I've also studied the Sardinian language, Sardinian history, and traditions. I've also attended many courses in Sardinian Archeology, due to the vast number of prehistoric monuments we have in the island. Sardinia sometimes is compared to a continent, for its variety of landscapes, cultures, languages, and traditions. I would be delighted to present you my island in all its diversities and originality. We Sardinians love our island, we consider it as a very beautiful, special, and fascinating island and we are ready to show you around and demonstrate that our love is fully justified. On request, I can organize excursions with buses of 50 seats, boats, yachts, and helicopters. Excursions on the occasion of special events: religious, sporting, and local festivals. From 2025 my vehicle used for individual/small group tours will be the new Hyundai Staria Hybrid 2025. Contact me and I will be happy to organize your tour and give you all the information about events, places to visit, and the related costs. - Master's degree in foreign languages - University of Sassari - Italian tour guide licence n. 20001038 - Certificate of tourist guide n. 2020 - Region of Sardinia (Italy) None.

One of Sardinia's most beautiful medieval cities, ALGHERO is the main resort in the northwest of the island. Permeating everything is a palpable Spanish atmosphere, a hangover of the city's past as a Catalan colony. Although largely given over to tourism (its population can almost quadruple in July and August), the town hasn't given up its unique character and it retains a proud and independent spirit. ALGHERO's animated historic center is a terrific place to hang out, and with so many excellent restaurants and bars, it makes an ideal base for exploring the beaches and beauty spots of the nearby RIVIERA DEL CORALLO, the magnificent CAVE OF NEPTUNE and the spectacular cliffs or CAPO CACCIA. On the road to ALGHERO, we will also visit the magnificent Romanesque church of SACCARGIA, built in the twelfth century, one of the most beautiful churches in northern Sardinia. It will be a full day experience in the Catalan part of Sardinia.
From the Olbia - Costa Smeralda area to arrive in Alghero takes around one hour and a half by car. On the way, we usually have the first stop for a coffee in a gas station near Oschiri and a second stop at the church of Saccargia, near Cordongianus. Just before arriving at Alghero we will visit the impressive cliffs of Capo Caccia and then straight to the Alghero. The center of this medieval town is not very big and permits to be visited in about 2/3 hours. There we will visit the cathedral located near the old Jewish area that was not a "ghetto" but an "aliama", after we'll tour the bastions where there are still displayed the old cannons. At the end we'll pass through the major shopping streets and if requested to visit the churches of San Francesco and San Michele.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
The whole tour will be with a Hyundai Staria Hybrid 2025 model, a comfortable, air conditioned 9 seater vehicle (see photos in my profile).
