Hello, my name is Matteo, I am a native Sardinian and I've lived most of my life on this beautiful island, except for a couple of years in London and 6 months in Australia and France. I've also worked (as a civilian) for more than 8 years in an important international NATO base in the south of Sardinia. I have a Master's degree in foreign languages (English and French) but at the university, I've also studied the Sardinian language, Sardinian history, and traditions. I've also attended many courses in Sardinian Archeology, due to the vast number of prehistoric monuments we have in the island. Sardinia sometimes is compared to a continent, for its variety of landscapes, cultures, languages, and traditions. I would be delighted to present you my island in all its diversities and originality. We Sardinians love our island, we consider it as a very beautiful, special, and fascinating island and we are ready to show you around and demonstrate that our love is fully justified. On request, I can organize excursions with buses of 50 seats, boats, yachts, and helicopters. Excursions on the occasion of special events: religious, sporting, and local festivals. From 2025 my vehicle used for individual/small group tours will be the new Hyundai Staria Hybrid 2025. Contact me and I will be happy to organize your tour and give you all the information about events, places to visit, and the related costs. - Master's degree in foreign languages - University of Sassari - Italian tour guide licence n. 20001038 - Certificate of tourist guide n. 2020 - Region of Sardinia (Italy) None.

Overview of your Olbia tour

The purpose of this excursion is to introduce visitors to some little-known monuments, located in areas rarely visited by ordinary tourists, such as the church of San Giorgio, but very important for the local people. Furthermore, we want to introduce the true Sardinian cuisine of the north-east, served in a real "stazzo", ( name of the typical Gallurese farm ). In the stazzo Lu branu all the products are grown there and made according to Sardinian ancient traditions and cultivation methods, fully respecting the pace of Nature. Therefore the guests may enjoy a pure, natural environment, good, healthy, substantial food and some true recreation. It would be also possible, on request, to visit a Sardinian old farm museum, to assist and partecipate to the making of most of the local products ( pasta, mirto, cheese, etc. ) and also to buy them. Antonello, the owner of the stazzu, will present you all the activities and products of his farm with lots of information and a great passion.

Your Olbia tour itinerary

An excursion to some of the most evocative and hidden places in the north east of Sardinia with a typical Gallurese dinner at the end. - We begin with the tomb of the giants of Li Mizzani, considered by the astro archaeologists to be one of the most powerful sources of natural magnetism in Sardinia and believed to have exceptional medicinal properties for various pathologies. - Not far away, we will also visit the little church of San Giorgio, built in 1675 by a group of hermits who lived in total isolation in an area considered sacred since the most remote prehistoric times. - Then we will move towards the sea to Porto Rafael, a small tourist settlement that faces La Maddalena Archipelago National Park. Founded in the 1960s by the Spanish Count Rafael Neville de Berlanga del Duero, the tourist hub is characterized by a quaint piazza overlooking Cala Inglese, also known as the 'Porto Rafael pool', and by the white houses bounded by colorful gardens, after we'll go up to the panoramic square of Barrage.
