Passionate, enthusiastic, flexible, sympathetic, concise, humorous, friendly - are words that have been used to describe me - this means I am the ideal person to share this beautiful city of Prague with and ensure you get the maximum benefit and enjoyment from your stay right from the start! I am not a local guide working each day on the same itinerary with details of many dates and events and leading groups with a flag from A to B and possibly a microphone! Worked in travel and tours business for 30 years and started my own Swiss company specialising in unique and client orientated programmes and itineraries. Have led and guided groups all over the world and have a special interest in the major European cities. I am from the UK but have lived and worked in Switzerland, London and now Prague. As your private guide, I love to share my enthusiasm, local knowledge and experience by not only showing fellow travellers my present city of residence but also getting to know them, what they like and why they are here. This gives me a chance to make each private tour unique and different and in tune with the clients interests and wishes. My knowledge of art and architecture proves very useful when walking around the historic magical city of Prague even if it is not a specialist Art Nouveau, Czech art or architecture tour as such! I always believe in mixing historical/cultural info with practical advice and local tips on where to eat, take a coffee in a unique setting or change money. This also prevents boredom setting in and gives the visitor a feeling of confidence and a great orientation allowing them to go back to museums or cafes they passed and find their way about like a local. That is why my ORIENTATION style flexible tours prove so popular as they meet the needs of the discerning traveler who cannot always find this with a standard local guide. Meeting a local tour guide/leader should also be a pleasant social experience for both parties. To that end I like to include some time for a coffee or local beer during the tour as this not only gives me a chance to get to know YOU and your interests and aspirations but also to share a great WORLD HERITAGE map of the city with you and explain where we have been or are going! As the honoured guest(s) in this magical city all depends on you and your needs, interests and what you hope to benefit from after the tour. I am here to help you get the maximum out of your time with me. Also available to give evening tours of cafes, bars, clubs etc. or accompany you for dinner at a place to suit your budget and tastes! Owned and managed my own group tours business in Suisse. Designed special tours and itineraries in most major Euro cities for groups as well as bookings, guiding and organising specialist tours. Have a BA/PGCE in Art & Architecture. As exam is in Czech I never got a local guide license! Walking tours use local trams if necessary but car/bus can be booked where needed for Czech tours.

Experience Prague from a different perspective and gain a wondrous insight from famous and unusual panoramic hills, towers and spires. Wonderful vantage points and a delight for photographers! Depending on time and how fast you walk we can include 2 towers, a park, a cafe with the best classic view of the Old Town and end at the Strahov Monastery for a unique beer still brewed by the monks and a great panorama! If you are less fit and older in years the tour can be adapted to your pace and needs and we can use the towers with lifts etc. ! We can even take the cog tram up to Petrin Hill and the Strahov Monastery. I have a full list of all possible panoramic vantage points and usually select the highlights giving a nice mix of views - but you can also choose the ones that suit you and your interests. This is not the standard tour you will book through the local agents and in addition to emphasising the views and panoramas we also see many buildings of interest en route.
The exact itinerary depends on how fast we walk, your preferences, the weather and time! This gives you an idea of the main possibilities. OLD TOWN Main buildings: Municipal House (Art Nouveau) - also look inside Powder Tower with option of getting a ticket to go up Cubist House of Black Madonna - also inside Old Town Square - main buildings, Astronomical Clock + a break at a special rooftop terrace Clementinum and Charles Bridge - option to climb Charles 4th tower Tram up to the Castle complex with a look inside the cathedral and pass the main palaces Option to climb the Bell Tower - this is the highest tower (steps!) Up to Strahov Monastery for a great panorama and a chance to sample the unique Monk's Beer. Tram back down to the centre. If you have any other specific requests we can try to fit them in as flexibility is the key! If the weather is bad or not clear we can follow a limited panorama option and include the main sites of Prague Castle etc.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
Walking - as this is the best way to see this wonderful city. No segways, bikes or taxis needed BUT we can use a tram to get to certain distant locations or Petrin Hill depending on the exact itinerary followed and how energetic you are!
