That’s why every Olomouc tour is private, flexible, and built around you: Move at your own pace, skip the crowds, make connections and follow your curiosity. Find local guides offering private tours in Olomouc for every interest, including:

Nature and Wildlife tours: Walk or cycle the floodplain forests of Litovelské Pomoraví from Horka nad Moravou, watching for kingfishers along oxbow lakes, or paddle a calm stretch of the Morava River with a local who knows safe put‑ins and take‑outs. You can also combine a forest stroll on Svatý Kopeček with a behind the scenes visit at Olomouc Zoo.

Architecture tours: Study the Holy Trinity Column up close, compare the Caesar, Hercules, and Arion fountains around the Upper Square, and step into the Town Hall to see the socialist realist astronomical clock in action. Climb the tower at St. Wenceslas Cathedral for views, then trace Romanesque and Gothic layers at the Přemyslid Palace.

History tours: Explore Moravian church power at the Archdiocesan Museum and the Přemyslid Palace, then walk the 18th-century fortress line at Korunní pevnůstka to hear how the city faced Prussian sieges. You might add small WWII memorials near the station and a stop at Fort Science, set inside a former bastion.

The historic core is compact and easy to walk, with trams linking the centre to Svatý Kopeček and the main station. For nature reserves outside town or day trips into the Jeseníky foothills, you can book chauffeured tours or ask your local guide about private transportation.

This isn’t a one-size-fits-all itinerary, you can tailor your private tour to match your interests, pace and personality with a local who knows Olomouc inside and out.

Day trip ideas from Olomouc

From Olomouc, plan easy day trips and tours to nearby cities and landscapes, and fold each stop into your tour so it matches what you like most, be it food, history, design or nature.

- Kroměříž: Explore a handsome main square, grand Archbishop’s chateau grounds and formal gardens, then step into cool wine cellars under historic buildings, which makes this a smart pick if you enjoy architecture, quiet lanes and a slower pace.

- Bouzov Castle and Loštice: Pair a storybook hilltop castle and forest paths with a stop in Loštice for the famous tvarůžky cheese, a combo that suits fans of medieval walls, easy countryside walks and local flavours.

- Brno: Spend your day in the second city with cafés, markets around Zelný trh, Špilberk park views and clean-lined functionalist spots, ideal if you like lively streets, design, and a broader dining scene than you’ll find in smaller towns.

- Moravian Karst and Macocha Gorge: Go for limestone caves, an underground river boat segment and the deep Macocha viewpoint, with short forest trails that keep things active yet simple, good for nature lovers and curious kids alike.

- Jeseníky Mountains and Karlova Studánka: Trade city noise for cool air, wooden spa houses, gentle valley walks and longer ridge hikes, which works well if you want fresh scenery, clear views and time to reset between stops.

A private tour with a local guide is the best way to really get to know a place. Skip the crowds, follow your interests, and see a side of Olomouc most travellers miss.
