I was born in Prague and spent a happy childhood here. I remember taking long walks with my grandfather and visiting all the historical places. Little did I know that one day, I would be showing this beautiful city and country to people, from all over the world. My grandfather would be proud. Eventually, my family moved first to Germany, where I learned German and then to the USA, where I got most of my education. In the year 2000, communism having been abolished, I returned to the Czech Republic, and live in Prague again. On my return, I went through the proper schooling to get my guide license for Prague and the Czech Republic and lead tours in Prague and all the "worth seeing" places in this country. Due to having spent so much time in the USA and Germany, I speak English, Czech and German perfectly. I do occasionally stray and lead international tours outside of the Czech Republic in Europe and the world but for the most part, I stay in Prague. I love to show this magnificent city and country to people from everywhere. Having the local and global experience as well as the language knowledge, I am sure you will get the most out of your stay in Prague and the Czech Republic on any of my tours. Dresden, Germany is only a 1. 5 hour drive from Prague. Their yearly Christmas Market is not to be missed. I will take you there and show you Dresdens beauty including the market, the Frauenkirche - Church of our Lady, the museums if you like and much more. We will have ample time to shop and admire the festive atmosphere. The Christmas Market on the Striezelmarkt in 2025 is open from November 26, 2025 to December 23, 2025 10:00 am to 9:00 pm (21:00)?
Your Prague tour itinerary
After I pick you up at your hotel, we drive the 1. 5 hours to Dresden, The historical center of Dresden is located on the left bank of the Elbe. Their yearly Christmas Market on the Striezelmarkt is considered to be the oldest Christmas Market in the world. It is also one of the prettiest. Protected for centuries by mighty fortifications, Dresden was a cultural center for hundreds of years. Even today the buildings from the renaissance, baroque and 19th century architecture determine the Elbe front and the face of the city. In spite of vast destruction during the Second World War, the old city part of Dresden has preserved or regained it's fascinating historical buildings. The most famous symbol of reconstruction in the city center is the Dresden Frauenkirche , "the Church of our Lady". We visit the beautiful Christmas Market as well as the church, if open during our visit. If you like, we continue to Meissen to their quaint but beautiful Christmas Market as well. We return to Prague in the evening hours.
