Discover Nicosia Walking Tour

My wife and I were in Larnaca and made our way to Nicosia for a day tour of the city with Marina, which was one of the highlights of our visit to Cyprus. Marina was punctual, informative, spoke English well and had a very well organized tour for us based on what we wanted to see and experience. We admittedly had limited knowledge of the history of Cyprus and understanding of why Nicosia is a divided city, but Marina patiently explained it all to us. We started with an overview of the Greek side and then passed through the border and "no man's zone" to visit the part of the city in the occupied Turkish area. This allowed us to fully experience the political division in the country which was quite fascinating. Our walking tour lasted 4 hours and Marina brought us back to the Greek side of Nicosia where she arranged for a cab to drive us back to Larnaca. In the days following our tour Marina stayed in touch with us to ensure that we were safe and unaffected by the drone attack on the British base here (we visited in early March 2026) which was very kind and thoughtful of her. If you are interested in visiting Nicosia to learn about the history and politics, Marina is an excellent guide and I highly recommend her services.

Marina is an excellent tour guide -- this tour of the Nicosia city center -- covering its long history through to today. Not only was her tour of the history comprehensive, we took in interesting sites along the way that helped put the history into perspective. I enjoyed my time and would highly recommend her. Further, she goes above and beyond: picking me up at my hotel and helping me do some quick (and thankfully easy) book shopping. This took time away from her day, for which I was incredibly appreciative.

Marina gave us an excellent half day tour of Nicosia, providing a lot of information about history and culture and showing us the best sites on both sides of the city. She also was easy to work with before the tour, and helped us with difficult restaurant reservations.

Marina provided an excellent introduction to both sides of the divided capital. She is knowledgeable and provided a lot of background to the history and daily life of this complicated city.

The guide of this tour was not Marina since it was not in her specialities but an architect she knew well. This was an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide that I really appreciated. The depth in her knowledge was very impressive both on the history of Limassol as well as the older architecture.

They really enjoyed it too, due to your very good German language skills on top to the perfect English. Tour was tailored to our time request and we felt we got comprehensive insights.
