Hi, my name is Serena Zhang and I have been a professional English speaking tour guide for Beijing, and China more generally, for over eleven years. My college major was English and I am well read in Chinese history and culture. I am proud that I have many repeat clients who request me as their guide every year. Over the years I have been a guide, I have worked with groups of all different types, including high school and college students and their faculty leaders, as well as families and organizational groups, business groups, individuals who are scholars doing research in China, or executives here on business. I am a continuous learner and I enjoy both teaching new things to my clients and learning from them. Since I live in Beijing, I know the city's sites, culture and people as only a native can. My goal is to listen well to my clients, so that I can offer them the most professional guidance and support possible in order to fit their objectives and needs. I am able to offer both knowledge of and experience with Chinese history, business, food, shopping, and entertainment. My desire is to help create an experience for my clients that will give them a love for China, its culture, and its people. I am pleased that persons with whom I have worked for many years tell me that they value my work ethic, poise, adaptability, humor, and energy. I would welcome the opportunity to guide you or your group. I got the English intermediate level tour guide certificate in 2011. I am not a driver but I can arrange for a separate car and driver for you.

Day one: The driver will pick you up at the airport—there won’t be a guide with them, as having a guide accompany you that early would be costly. After that, you’ll check in at the hotel. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Hutongs. Dinner will be on your own. Day two: We’ll start with a temple visit in the morning, then drive to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. There will be time for some shopping near the Great Wall before heading to the airport for drop-off.
